#4334, "Any thoughts on Hearing abilities ?"

We have sight abilities. Scanning distance, ability to see in the Underdark, or not, etc. What about hearing abilities for some races ? I was thinking Feral, but that's entirely subjective. You can hear yells in your area, both attacks, and general. My thought is those with the enhanced hearing could hear yells from ajoining areas. Maybe not specific yells (or maybe), but 'Someone is yelling afar off.' type. Depending on what area you were in, it may make little differance, being that so many areas are attached to it, but places that are deadended, or have only two areas attached, you could easily track down what area the noise is coming from.

Basic Enchance: Someone is yelling nearby message.
Improved Enchance: <CharName/Someone> is yelling from the <direction>.

Improved can be level based, like sight, or only to one or more races deemed to have excellent hearing.

Actually, if this were ever going to happen, I could see forms getting
this as a natural ability.

The one drawback I see is an even more loot-happy Thera where no fight
ever stays between two people.
