You've been a lot more open on legacy feelings/critiques lately, so I was just wondering how you truly felt about Harmonious Equilibrium and if there's any chance you could throw some numbers around.

It's a legacy that's always interested me, but I've never taken because of certain flaws and uncertainties. Firstly, I don't know how often it really affects lag, is it more than 50% of the time? Secondly, does it ever give you a whole round of lag off? Thirdly, if it does, but you are really good about OOC commands and not lagging yourself out, how do you know if it worked to where you can say to yourself "Ok, I will have an extra round taken off this pincer, so I can slip a double thrust in right now." etc.

If it never can take off a whole round of lag, it just seems like an oh #### I hope my flee goes through sooner legacy. If it can, would you ever be open to putting an echo in for it?

Could you ever see yourself taking this and feeling solid on the choice?

When I had Arkal which was just a few months ago. I noticed vs trip harmonious was amazing nobody could perma-lag me. Bash was another story, I noticed it rarely worked if at all against bashing.

>Firstly, I
>don't know how often it really affects lag, is it more than
>50% of the time?

It's 100% of the time when others lag you.

That being said, depending on the situation it might not always be particularly helpful to you depending on the specifics of the lags, when in the round cycle it happens, what you're doing, what else is happening to you, etc.

And really, that's true of most things in the game -- stone skin is almost always damage reduction, but that's not helpful if you're getting hit for 100 when you have 10 HP.

>Secondly, does it ever give you a whole round
>of lag off?

Yup.

>Could you ever see yourself taking this and feeling solid on
>the choice?

I think probably not, but it doesn't really play to any of the somewhat odd ways I tend to play the warrior class -- not that it's exactly a bad choice for anyone, but I usually have some kind of scheme in mind that calls for two legacies (not always offensive ones, but not usually that) that aren't Harmonius. That's a little ironic because it actually would be the ideal legacy in some pretty common situations I die in, but it's just not flashy enough for me to really want.

That being said, I've seen other people take it and make it look really good, just as they do with some of the specialization options in the game that I don't do great with.

But I've taken it twice before. It's an amazing legacy, though it's kind of boring with no bells or whistles. It saved the lives of my chars numerous times.

I tend not to be excited about legacies or edges unless:

1. Buff me up so I can "win" fights I might otherwise have lost, or
2. Help me seal the deal in fights where I'm already winning.

Sometimes a defensive one can be good enough to do #1, but it will never do #2.

The perfect candidate for harmonious would:

1. expect to get bashed a fair amount (i.e. no giants or minotaurs),
2. expect to get tripped a fair amount (i.e. no arials, cloud giants, marans or outlanders),
3. expect to fight against multiple opponents fairly often (e.g. rager).

So a rager who isn't a giant or arial might benefit from it the most.

ultimate combo with harmonious equilibrium and chilling embrace.

Then again gnome hand/pole is fun no matter what.

I posted a ton of logs on the other board with that character, and I think there are at least two logs that show harmonious triggering.

Gondorff was the char's name.
