#3557, "In water/on water/on ground room flags"

Hi,

I think additional modifiers(%<something>) should be
added to prompt to allow people to see if they are in water,
on water or on the ground(and probably "in the air"
though it is less common condition)

Sometimes it is critical to know in which environment you are,
for example for gills/gills removal, water breathing
cast/recast, fly/no fly, drown/no drown, able to shapeshift
into water form/non-water form, specific water-sensetive
invoker spells, and so on. Other environment status modifiers
are there(indoor/outdoor, wilderness/civilized) so I think
this idea doesn't fall out of the general design line.

From IC point of view, it is always obvious for the character
whether he is in water or not, and it is not clear why it is
necessary to make it so hard for the person to discover in
which environment his character is at the moment.

Thanks.

Only partially, it doesn't tell you if you are on water or in
water

The in game "help" when you type "prompt
?" will have to wait until NCR, though. Help prompt
shows the water option now.

Because you don't think it's worth it to change, or because
you think it's appropriate that someone would have no idea if
their mouth were covered by water or not? I picture the
brilliant gnomemage thinking "Am I wet? I know, I'll try
to sneak around, and if I can't manage it, then I must be in
the water."

Because they are vague, just like wilderness doesn't tell you
whether you are in a forest or in a mountain range. Civilized
doesn't tell you if you are in a city or on a road.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

We're rather fond of making the descriptions in the room
meaningful.

Type sneak. It is one of those skills that is available to
all classes but just doesn't work very well if you don't have
the skill. Anyway, if you are underwater you'll get the echo
"you can't sneak underwater" as opposed to an echo
"you attempt to begin moving silently" (or some
such) when you are on dry land.
