#3249, "Request, re: information on this site."

I would really...really...really Like to see some place where information is compiled like....

How many pcs are in each cabal. How many evil pcs there are, how many good pcs there are, how many neutral pcs there are.

It doesn't even need to be specific....say...tiers such as...

0-15
16-30
31-50
51-70
71-100
101-130...etc.

Why do I think such information would be helpful? Well. I know quite a number of the players that post here and on the othe board "claim" to enjoy the underdog status....but, I believe the current number of empirials and evils in general compared to the goodies makes liars of all but a VERY few of them.

Let's say I haven't played for a while...and I have ideas for roles I would like to try....say a scion necro....a dwarf tribby shaman...a duergar ap empirial...an evil thief rager...a w-elf herald...a cloud giant that wants to go squire....etc.

I could look at the numbers...and (taking my impressions of what cf is like recently) decide against hopping on the current band-freight-train that is evil (especially empire) chars...and I would choose one of my goodie ideas...because I know that playing an underdog gives a better chance at showing off and getting that coveted 30 seconds of immteraction per 400 hours of playtime.

Yes, I understand somewhat how such information can be used for ill....

Say...someone not ever rolling their necro idea until they deem there are enough evils about to offer the best chance of actually being able to rank(the hardest part about being a necro)....

But, that already goes on. You only need to count how many necros there are between 20 and 47 now compared to how many there were total 3 months ago to know that probably 80% of them rolled for just the above purpose.

And....why not just try it? If it seems like the playerbase can't handle the information in a mature way and instead abuses it...how hard would it be to just yank it again?

There is a place like this...it's called Immortaldom.

>How many pcs are in each cabal. How many evil pcs there are,
>how many good pcs there are, how many neutral pcs there are.

I honestly don't think we'll be posting this, or offering a command for mortals to see this in any form.

>Yes, I understand somewhat how such information can be used
>for ill....

And that's pretty much why it's an immortal only thing.

>But, that already goes on. You only need to count how many

Oddly enough, we've tracked this for awhile, and the trends tends to be fairly consistent across the board.

It'd be easier to just not put it in, because we know (not think, not guess) that people won't handle the information.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

through a hero warlock voker, 2 hero tribby warriors, a fortress paladin and ranger past 40...a fortress warrior past mid 30's...and a non-attached ranger past 40 (all consecutive mostly...not overlapping much) .....

I counted 5 necros in my pk past rank 20....in all that time.

My current char past 20 has 7 necros in pk that are on all the time....most often 3-4 at a time.

Maybe it's just me.

Very few people enjoy being the underdog. Even less enjoy being the underdog for any length of time. This is often proven by the mass logins of Imperials, Warders, Fortress and Ragers. I've been back long enough that I've seen all these groups do it. It's a lot easier to talk #### than to back it up. If you start posting stats like that you'll just have more people playing the "winning" side. You'll also notice that more than one person is playing hero characters or near hero characters in different cabals. If you want to be a badass go with a Scarab. They will always be the underdog.

I got the impression that you thought I was asking for numbers "currently logged on".

That's not what I was asking for. I was asking for total PCs. between creation and deletion/autodeletion, logged on and not logged on.

I think such information would limit it's use to those who like to mass-logon...and still be useful for those who don't want to unwittingly join a charging 80 mile-an-hour frieght train of a bandwagon.
