the inherent helpfile seems to me to hint at each race getting more than one ability ("...listed in order...") I want to know if there are plans for giving some races multiple inherents.

The framework set up for inherents certainly supports a race with multiple inherents, though that doesn't necessarily mean we have plans of that kind drawn up yet.
