Seems like you're just parsing a file, either text or binary, and maybe doing some additional sanity checking. Is there more to it?

Most of the time, it just means a certain player can't log on.

I'm not aware of many recent crashes that involved a particular player file. If one gets filled up with the right kind of garbage it can be a problem, but that's not common.
