Chapter 13

Alrion has been through a great deal in recent times, it has
become all to obvious that the strings he though were severed
clearly are not. This has resulted him being demoted as Captain
it was however the arguement with Aurew afterwards that provided
clarity on matters for Alrion that stand as a stark contrast to
the beliefs of the Cardinal. As such:

1. Fear to act to make a stand is just as evil as the act itself.
2. Alrion refuses to act based on the what if's and rather what is
. right now. Yes the attack in town may get him marked a criminal,
. but if it makes a difference to the one saved. Clarity can never
. be lost that it makes a difference to that person.
3. He strongly believes that rumor will spread and arms will be
. raised against those who walk in darkness.
4. He will still Sheath the Sword, it is his burden to wear the taint
. for all guards that have been twisted by the corruption in the
. Tribunal walls. One day a guard will notice the sacrifice being
. made it may be the change thats needed to bring sweeping reforms.
5. If a guard attacks and falls in defenisive moves Alrion will have to
. ... must push on ... It is not that he beleives a life for a life
. is a fair trade. But a life for his own sacrifice yes.
6. Tohr is a problem a big problem. He will assult the mountain with
. a greater ferocity and push the giant and his dark magics back.
. Destroying notes and books in the process so none will be able to
. pick up the pieces so easily.
7. The aryth must become what it once was his people free of the Evil
. that lurks near by.
8. There are no innocents in War. It is always the biggest burden a
. Maran must carry.

Chapter 12

Left unfinished overtime Alrions training in the Mercy of the Typhoon
soon became a distant memory. Left unfinished and given the level of
deceipt in Tohrs infiltration not just with Alrion but other Warrior
students. The monks made offer to continue his training elsewhere, but
Alrion held them back and refused. He had one request as he left the
halls.

The one I attacked, consider my monk training and the time needed, the
time he deserves to be cared for. When such is complete and the offer
stands we can discuss my future training then.

Chapter 11

Alrion stood definately staring at the monk and uttered a single
word.

"No!"

"You deny me? Deny your destiny?"

A surging heat filled the room as the blazing sword named
Incinerator flared with an unholy light as the Monk drew it from
his scabard.

Alrions eyes narrowed as he picked up the wooden weapon!

"YOU"

Placing the sword before him in a futile effort to stop the flaming
blade did little more than add fuel to the fire. The wood little
more effective than a stick of butter would have been, as the
flaming blade dropped in a brutal cleaving motion. As it struck
Alrion Silvery-white flames flared brightly along his wounds,
imbuing him with a strength like he had never felt before.

Tohr's jaw dropped, quickly falling back he stammered in shock

"This cannot be!"

Quickly tracing a rune in the air Tohr uttered a singe word and
vanished.

Chapter 10

Practice weapons in hand Alrion stood surrounded by other
similarly armed warriors. It was his final training in the
ways of the Mercy of the Typhoon, and the fight was as real
as one could be without a bladed weapon. Moving from one
form to the next Dolphin Leaps Through A Wave flowed into
Octopus Mimics Coral he lept forward in a powered flurry of
attacks. Pushing his asailant back, without breaking stride
he rapidly moved onto the next when pain filled his right
wrist, like a noose tightening to breaking point. Suddenly
his wrist sitffened further as the weapon spun in his fingers
closing his grip he drove the hilt of the weapon up into the
chin of the next warrior student. Driving it home with one
final surge breaking jaw and sending teeth flying in all
directions. As the student slumped to the ground unconcious
Alrions wrist relaxed and his wooden weapon fell to the floor.

The monk stood a wicked gleam in his eye.
"Good good! Now finish him!"

Chapter 9

All these years ever since finally escaping the graps of the fire
giants, Alrion has been trying to distance himself from there.
But he cannot deny the time spent locked away observing, studying
Drathgar's forms. Of particular note was the method he used as
students tried to escape his practice weapons in retreat.

The Mercy of the Typhoon, is the name by which the monks call this
study. Many thought the secrets had been lost for an eternity
and yet they key had been right there all along on the mount of
Kiadana.

Much like the Typhoons that form on the Aryth, those who twist battle
against the light will soon fell the full brunt of Alrion's force.

Chapter 8

Of all the moves one can learn with the sword, there is one known
as the Sheathing of the Sword. Very few bother to learn it, because
while it sounds simple enough, the true detail of it is using ones
body as the sheath.

...

Alrion drops to one knee in the Hall of Light, and drops his head
mumbling the words "Bloody Tribunals". For him he has known now for
a long time that the Tribunals would eventually be a problem, those
amongst its ranks who claim they are of the Light. Yet defend those
who hold the souls of their kind in weapon, and dig up graves of the
fallen for their own amusement. There beliefs twisted over time by
the evil that has been allowed to hold leadership and command over
the various cities.

He knows there is still good in some of these people, and he knows
despite best effort that it will only be a matter of time before he
finds blood on his hands.

The Ancient Knight of the Fortress observing his actions raises a
hand placing it on Alrions shoulder, with a firm grip he simply nods
as Alrion is filled with a sense of reassurance. Alrion ushes himself
to his feet and slowly begins to remove and fold his clothing until
he is left standing in only a loincloth. Grabbing a salt encrusted
canteen from his chest, he pours the water over his head.

"By the oceans reborn!'

Reverses the grip on his sword and plunges it through his heart.

Chapter 1

If anyone was to observed Alrion as he sat slumped against the
trees of the Feawyyn Weald their first thought would converge to
witnessing the breaking of a giant. His shoulders slumped,
burdened with a weight that even this giants broad shoulders
could not hold. But there was no-one to observe the giant was
alone, the forest eerily quiet from the evil that had struck
the lands near the High Lords keep not a moment earlier.

Alrion lifted his bloody hands and simply stared in disbelief
a low rumble filling the forest as the giant began to cry. Slowly
the tears began to subside, as the giant drove the hilt of his
sword against his forehead, the strain evident in the thick
muscle of his forearms as he tried to press what filled his head
out of existance. Slowly the giant began to rock back and forth
muttering the word "No" over and over whie shaking his head.
Rolling forward he drives the tip of his sword into the groung
raising two huge fists which soon crash into the earth the loud
"BOOM" echoing through the empty forest "NO!". Anger now filled
the giants face, as he stood revealing his full height and size.

His body tensed in a stance ready to strike, the was squared off
his eyes locked on something unseen. Pulling his sword from the
ground he lifted it as he pointed it towards the empty forest
before him.

"YOU HAVE NO HOLD OVER ME!"

Heat and the smell of sulphur suddenly fill the Weald, its
presence ever choking until Alrion collapses in a heap ...

Chapter 2

Alrion stands in the ashen remains of what was once a great
span of trees now reduced to a row of smuldering stumps as
far as the eye can see. There is the forboding overwhelming
sense of death surrounding the burnt remains. Sound held abay
not even daring to break the deathly silence of the surrounds.
Suddenly Alrions arms and legs are pulled in opposing directions
like a man being drawn and quartered by four draft horses. A
chilling voice breaks behind him breaks the silenece, softly
spoken each word layered in hatred ...

"You deny me puppet? After all I have done for you!"

"I did after all have a hand in your freedom."

A hollow chuckle began to fill the air, the surrounds answering
in turn as the heat of the area rises and falls, echoing the
hollow laugh. Impossibly large hands, far bigger than Alrion
ever remembered roughly grab at the suspended giant and turns
him towards the source of the heat. A single word escapes Alrions
mouth ...

"Tohr"

The impossibly large giant broke into to laughter once more.

"You like your soul are mine!"

Chapter 3

A step back in time ...

Blood dribbles down Alrion's face, as he moans quietly at the
feet of the dungeon guardian. A smile creases the guardians face
as Alrion lets out a final gasp for air as a heavy boot meets
the center of the prone giants stomach. Turning towards the
other giant in the stone prison, the dungeon guardian cracks
his knuckles before he begins to torture the other storm giant
in the cell.

Tohr, stands at the entry to the open cell, voice flat and unmoving
he utters the words "Casulty of War!" Twisting ever so slightly
Alrion glances towards Tohr, his flaming sword initially hurting
his light starved eyes, only to turn away just as swiftly. If he
ever survived this entrapment, Alrion knew that few on the outside
would believe what he had witnessed and started to experience, in
his short time as prisoner. When Tohr spoke, the words seemed little
more than a passing comment. He spoke in a manner that conveyed a
complete and utter lack of concern, he did not care if the prisoners
lived or died, he did not care if they were tortured or not, he did
not care if they were scared or if they were not scared, there was
simply nothing that seemed to move the fire giant. The calm unmoved
voice when he spoke of the torture the prisoners were going to
experience today could just as likely be found in idle conversation
around a cup of tea.

"Would you like a biscuit with your tea?"

Just as likely a statement as

"Would you like me to flay you with a sharp or a blunt knife?"

Chapter 4

Fire giant watchmen drag Alrion through the Eastern corridor of
the volcano, stopping before a black stone door to the south. The
watchmen wait a moment with an uneasy look on their faces, before
opening the door and unceremoniously tossing the prone form of
Alrion through the opening. Turning they pick up the pace hoping
putting distance between themselves and the black chamber beyond
the door.

Tohr leans over the prone form of Alrion, a small dagger better
suited a gnomes hand is held gingerly between thumb and forefinger.
The size of the weapon seemingly a polar opposite to the malevolance
contained within it. Not an ounce of light escapes the blade, its
presence more noticed due to the absence of something where the
dagger lies. Tormented screams follow the void of the dagger as
Tohr moves it with a practiced hand, precisely, piercing points on
Alrions body, wrist, hand, and fingers. Before he stands with a
wicked grin across his face.

"You are mine!"

As Tohr places the small dagger back into the folds of his midnight
black cloak, the light in the room begins to return from its hiding
place.

"GUARDS! This one is dead sink him to the bottom of the ocean."

Chapter 5

The sense of the ocean around him was soothing, after such a long
time in the inferno the relief of the oceans was always going to be
a welcome one. Despite the calm of the Ocean Alrions thoughts were
racing ...

How did I come to be here?
How did I escape?

Vague memories taunted his thoughts, mere shadows of reality, but
these thoughts spoke of him fighting. Despite the impossible odds,
time and time again the crude weapon he started with fended blow
after blow, striking true as he danced through the village of the
volcano. he was one with his weapon its crude shape singing through
the air as he swung hard and true.

As he moved to stand from his reasting place at the bottom of the
ocean his thoughts of his escape were shaken. The weight of the
shackles around his neck finally becoming evident, his hand moving
to follow the chains attached to two large boulders which no doubt
drew him to his resting place. Enough to drag him down yes, but
against the water the weight only a fraction of what it could be.
Driving himsef to his feet against the weight he begins to drive
himself foward along the sea bed.

Chapter 6

"This is nothing but a dream. My Dream!"

Suddenly two great flashes of light start to solidify inside Alrions
hands two swords seemingly forged from nothing but light. Twisiting
against his restraints, Alrion quickly spins his weapons in a blur,
severing the links to his puppet master. Catching his fall he dips
his head slightly relief in feeling the solidity of the ground. His
body frozen his head moves left to right at the weapons held in his
hands, slowly it twists an inquisitive look on his face. A shuffling
noise before him finally breaking the thought process Alrion pushed
himself to his feet, swords held at the ready. As he snarls the word

"Tohr"

The fire giant stood in disbelief, as much stunned as was his puppet
of the events that had just unfolded before him.

"TOHR! YOU WILL FIND NO REPRIEVE, THE OCEANS COME FOR YOU!"

Suddenly Tohr was thrown back, as Alrion launched himself towards the
giant with such explosive speed he stunned him as much as it did the
giant before before him. Swords of blazing light, met only barely by
sword of flame. Moving quickly Alrion, pinned the flaming sword with
one weapon while he struck at the pommel with the other, in an attempt
to break the demonic grip. Flailing backwards, barely keeping his feet,
Tohr quickly glares at a small rod tied to his belt, and with a quick
uttering of words vanished into thin air.

"TOHR!"

Chapter 7

Alrion bolts upright from his resting place, eyes scanning the surrounds
obviously on edge, slowly the tension in his frame begins to ease, as
he notices his imprint in the grass before him.

"It was just dream!" he chuckles nervously as he reaches towards his
brow and wipes the sweat from it. Peering towards his hand he begins to
shake his head further as notices the black soot mixed with his sweat
covering his hand.

Other things of note:
1. Alrion is a believer and follower in the ways of Strength, it being
.. a far more complex thing than lifting hugh rocks right over ones head.
.. Strength has many forms, and the aspect that is important for him now
.. is having the drive to push on, where others may crumble and give up
.. he will not. The volcano and the evil which spreads throughout the land
.. will rue the day they heard the name Alrion. Part of this is there are
.. no excuses he must accept and shoulder the burden of the act his hands
.. performed.
2. His quest to destoy evil will only grow stronger as he does with age,
.. with a particular hatred and focus towards those who attempt to
.. manipulate ones body and soul to their favour. Anti-Paladins and
.. Necromancers.
3. He will continue his training with the sword, and will seek to supplement
.. this training with whips and flails. Once he has his hand on evil there
.. will be little escape, they will face judge, jury and executioner.
4. This focus and training will be further honed through the medatative
.. stances of the Ward of Blades, and the Chilling Embrace.
