No. Not Empire you freaks.

Choosable prime stat rolling for human/half-elf/half-drow warriors has returned. The one caveat is. A half-elf who chooses their prime stat of dexterity will have 2 points go to dexterity and 1 point to strength since a 24 dex is above both that of a human and an elf.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Some questions...

Wis - seems to have the same problem as dex. Max elf wis is 21 since they can't allocate. Human w/ prime wis is still only 23. I'd suggest applying the +2/+1 rule, except then there's virtually no reason to ever choose wis as a prime stat.

Dex - Am I right to assume the +2/+1 thing doesn't apply to half-drow since max drow dex is 24?

And why would any warrior choose wis as a prime stat? No good reason I can think of, and that's why we left it.

Now wouldn't something like

"Prime stat change for human/half-elf/half-drow warriors"

have given a short idea of the update without having to open it? Basically making it easier to search for later, instead of looking for "lovin'" update #467? Not trying to be an ass, just trying to offer constructive criticism.

It's like opening a christmas present...it's wrapped for a reason!

Search looks through the content of the post as well as the title...it'll still find it.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

With the advanced search, you can specify which field(s) you want to search in, as well as fancy and/or technology.

The best thing about this new forum system is that it runs off a mySQL backend instead of flat files. If you know anything about running searches on databases, the flat files system becomes slower and slower to search as the number of posts increases. Hence the old forum's "archive" function. The mySQL backend minimizes this, so there is no longer a need to archive any of the posts.

And searches should be really fast. That's of course provided we don't have problems with the mySQL server like we did a couple of weeks ago. :-P

I still say y'all should let use something home grown or akin. This software has had its share of dehabilitating bugs to make me think it might not be worth the money.

Those "debilitating" bugs you have presumed are because of the forum software have not been. We've been having server problems, which have nothing to do with the forum software.

There were a few minor bugs and of course the whole "the way it looks" issue with this software. Right now, those server troubles and my own lack of time are preventing me from tweaking anything, but I expect to be able to in the next few days.

There is no forum software that everyone would like, and I'm sure there would be complaints about those other two forum softwares, too.
