See, the character in question is a Warlock.

You know why Shokai gave you cabal powers? It's not to fight Warlocks. Thus, cheap attempts to abuse the powers result in your hide getting charred.

Sorry for the multiple posts, but I did this after the prior one. As you can see, the mantle is not working, and she is neither a member of the fortress or the warlocks.

And the fact remains...that you're still clueless. And this is still by design.

What are Maran powers for? Killing good or killing evil? Answer that, and you'll understand why it doesn't work (and cannot be abused as such).

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

As I said in the other post, the mantle is not working when I am hit with heat damage in, for example, a room that had been set on fire and is hot (items fall off from heat, etc.), or the flaming axe being wielded by an antipaladin I was fighting.

Zulghinlour's flaming bite misses you.
Zulghinlour's claw EVISCERATES you!
You sure are BLEEDING!
Zulghinlour's flaming bite singes you!
Silvery-white flames flare brightly along your wounds.

You sure are BLEEDING!
Zulghinlour's claw DISMEMBERS you!
You sure are BLEEDING!
Your punch EVISCERATES Zulghinlour!
Zulghinlour dodges your punch.
Zulghinlour has a few scratches.

Again...looks like it's working fine to me.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

What remains is the area heat affects, like the tunnel in the ashes of nowhere, or when a room is on fire or recently was on fire and is very hot. You get the same heat damage but the mantle does not kick in.

Thanks.

I'll spell this out for you, since you still don't get it.

Fire damage from AN EVIL SOURCE will heal you. One more time for those who are slow.

FIRE DAMAGE from AN EVIL SOURCE will heal you.

Remarkably...that's why it is a Maran power.

Rooms are not evil.
Warlocks are not evil.
Good-aligned invokers are not evil.
Any whacked out way you think you can try and abuse this to heal is not evil.

This was all thought up in the design phase, and has been this way since day 1.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!
