I know I'm wearing +age gear. I suspect the +age effect only occurs when you put on the piece of gear.

When an item gets dented, it seems as if the code of the dent skill removes the item from being worn...then puts in back on you...then removes it again when it is broken? That is what it looks like is happening, with me getting the age effect in the middle of the skill.

As far as I can see, dent has to make you re-wear your equipment for some calculations.

Much like you suspect, it means that if the EQ causes a wearing echo you'll see it when it gets dented.

I'm marking it "as intended" since dent seems to have to do that.

If it's doing something silly like *stacking* your age, let me know (but it shouldn't).
