He is an elf and grabbed my iron weapon.

It will work in a modified way. The paladin can knock the weapon into your inventory, but cannot grab it.

That was one of the most frustrating features of a monk.

They said it was by design at the time but I don't get why.

Now the same thing needs to happen to 'strip' since it's probably similar code.
