So I'm a village applicant, wearing the brass knuckles that cause bruising. I hit myself (twice) using truesight:

You concentrate in a state of battle readiness.
As you strike Andell, a pair of brass knuckles leaves a nasty bruise!
Your extreme exertion devastates you!
You look around sharply!
The Veil currently seems normal.

You didn't hit yourself twice. You hit yourself once (via the extreme exertion of truesight) and it also happened to prog the secondary affect of the object.

While its not exactly an ideal return here, its also more trouble than its worth to fix at this juncture... Unless of course it does it *every single time* you call truesight.

It happens with bleeding and such too:

Your bandages lose their effectiveness.
The bleeding artery stops.
You feel less tough.
You continue to bleed from your wounds.
As you strike Andell, a pair of brass knuckles leaves a nasty bruise!
Your bleeding mauls you.

For what it is worth ...

The stiffness in your body wears off.
You shiver and suffer.
As you strike Tarak, a pair of brass knuckles leaves a nasty bruise!
Your poison EVISCERATES you!

I am terrible at keeping logs, I am positive I had the same thing on hunger and thirst as well.
