(53 W-Elf ANG) Alysrith Eregale, Hunter of the K'sra . . Standing before you around five feet tall is a rather short wood-elf. Confidently poised by her spear, she looks the peak of physical condition, well-muscled and agile. Clothed in the hues of the living wild, she glows with a purity of beauty rarely seen. Her blue eyes hold a fury, like the torrents of a great monsoon, which contrast perfectly with the long light-reddish brown hair flowing down her back. Her simple beauty is marred only by a few scars: a stripe across her right cheek, and a gruesome scar in her left side being the most noticeable. When she stalks around, her movements betray a confidence and experience that few could match. . Alysrith, a female wood-elf, is in perfect health.
Alysrith is using: (worn on finger) a many-spotted ladybug (worn around neck) a sung wood medallion depicting storms and lightning (worn around neck) a short cape of Maidenhair fronds (worn on body) a bluish blouse of 'Witch's Hair' (worn on head) red-flowered accents of cypress vine (worn on legs) dappled gray-green Ironbark chausses (worn on feet) dappled gray-green Ironbark sabatons (worn about body) a rucksack of black tree moss (worn about waist) the Vine of the Soul (worn around wrist) lavender-flowered coils of kudzu (worn around wrist) a small wreath of Devil's Ivy (wielded) the living spear of the K'sra (tattooed) a forked lightning bolt

Role
Your role is: Added Fri Feb 8 20:31:45 2002 at level 2: . Alysrith's ORIGIN . . It was a dark day in the land of the swamps. An orcish runner was scarcely seen, as he slipped through the muck toward the village of the Sz'weh. The K'sra had heard rumors, whispers on the wind, about an alliance, and readied for the coming horde. Tulpebb had indeed made his move. . The forest to the south burned brightly against the dull black of night, lighting the gruesome spectacle for all to see. Gasps of horror rang out, as the swath of devastation reached it's peak of unholy fire. There were murmers...hushed tones of awe and anger...of a tower of mages, and their Twisted lord. But this was no time for talk. Battle cries of "Yusweni!" rang out about the village. The horde had come. . Orcs appeared from every pit and moor, as the Sz'weh unleashed the unholy might of Nazmorghul from the north. Jh'nrel and Ghyss, leaders of the K'sra, held their own and saved many of their kin from certain doom. But this was war, and some would certainly fall. . As the battle raged, a pregnant wood-elf frantically scrambled into the village from the south swamps, battered and beaten. Her child had foolishly picked this moment to greet the world, and as she held it in her arms for the first time, the orcish horde was upon her. The mother felt the arms of death curl about her as her heart embraced the shaft of a spear. Seeing her child bathed in her own blood, she gasped her last breaths, and in her anguish cried out, "Alysrith my child!" then murmered something unintelligible as she drifted off to her final slumber. . Hearing the mothers final cry, Ghyss ran to her aid too late, ariving only to find the orcs at play, whipping their new found toy. Chasing them off, she collected her new charge and sighed. Tending to the child's stripes, she looked down at the mother and shook her head. Too many would die this day. . Years passed, and the babe grew into a young woman. Ghyss was faithful to the last wishes of the mother, calling the child Alysrith. With Ghyss as her guardian, and Jhel'nra as a spiritual guide, she learned well the ways of weapons, of the wilds, and of Sra. She was wild in nature, even to the hearty K'sra. Even so, Jhel'nra tried to tutor her in the healing arts, but alas, it was not her path. Under Ghyss' tutelage, she was a warrior bred and born. The eye of the hurricane, cutting down any in her path that would cross her spirit. . One day, Alysrith found a dark cowled stranger wandering the swamps. She followed the outsider to a strange little grove tended by a strange little saurian. His name was Ssithra. She found compassion for the stranger, for in him, she saw a kindred spirit. His spirit was indeed in unison with the wilds...and as a ranger, he even taught her a few things she knew not. After a sparring session or two, Alysrith's visit was over, and she went back to the K'sra village...with many new ideas in her head. . Months passed, and many battles...with orcs...with Sz'weh... burners...even a few lone travelers who had come to soil the swamps. One night, it was the drow. Alysrith had seen one before, and he was an amiable creature, so she hailed the band and approached them. T'was soon that she realized her error. As a drow blade impaled her between the third and fourth rib, she saw the vile nature of those about her. Sneering, they would be content only with death and destruction. Fleeing, she found the vines of the swamp come alive and jump to her hands. Lashing out at her enemies, she fled to warn the village. . After the ensuing battle, as the K'sra feasted on fresh fillets of drow, Alysrith was troubled. The seeds that Ssithra had planted within her mind were finally sprouting. She was beginning to see the limitations of the K'sra view of Sra. . For the next three days, the village became more and more unusual to her. Saurians she knew well, started talking to her less and less...until finally...no one noticed her at all. She had become unseen to the saurian community. Her view of the world had changed. Saddened, she understood what had happened. When her beliefs on Sra changed, she became Weh to the saurian community. She would have to find her place elsewhere in the world. . For a time, she stayed with and learned from Ssithra...but a small secluded druid's grove could not contain her spirit. With her pack on her shoulder, and a spear in hand, she set out to find her place in the world. . Added Sat Feb 9 08:17:19 2002 at level 3: . Alysrith's RELIGION/BELIEFS: . . (The initial info on saurian beliefs are taken from the Celestial Lyceum, and extrapolated from there.) . . The world consists of Sra and Weh. . Sra = Life/living = good/desirable . Weh = Death/dead/inanimate = bad/undesirable . . "Yusweni" (Great Spirit of Sra) watches over the world. Happily in places where Sra is more pure, in sadness and anger where Weh exists, in fury where Weh grows. . All Imms of nature/sylvan are considered Yusweni. Kind of like the Christian trinity...all parts are considered God. She sees them as parts of the same, representing one whole Spirit...rather than mutually exclusive beings, with different faiths. However, she values the storm the most...the attributes of Yusweni that Uller represents. . Unlike the saurians (denizens of Ysigrath) who ignore and isolate themselves from Weh, she recognizes it, and feels in her spirit that she must do something about it. . She hasn't completely removed herself from the saurian view of Sra and Weh however. Many aspects of her heritage remain. She is a vegetarian (forager) for the most part, because she will not consume something that is dead. She will eat meat if it is fresh with blood from a recent kill (as it is still alive for a time), but buying meat at a merchant, or carrying it for long, is Weh. (Dead too long, and cities are abodes constructed from dead/inanimate things...and thus Weh) She abhors the dead/ inanimate...at the same time that she sees death as a necessary part of Cirklaa. . Alysrith believes, like the saurians, that one day Yusweni will come in the full fury of the mist/storm. At that time, Thera will be transformed into a pure state of Sra. The storm/mist will become more alive than it is now, and the "Tora'sra" (Avengers of Life) will emerge from the mist and avenge all the wrongs ever done to the K'sra. These wrongs, in one word, refer to all that is Weh. . Saurians don't make distinctions or political divisions within the K'sra. Nationalism, or even seeing villages as meaningfully separate or different from each other are absent in the society. As such, Alysrith makes no distinctions within the K'sra (K'= brother/sister) (sra=life). Wolf, dryad, saurian, sylvan...they are all K'sra to her. . "Cirklaa" (The cycle of Sra and Weh) is a concept she belives in. Most would call it the circle of life. A wolf killing a rabbit has purpose in the cycle...and thus is Sra (good)...but a logger slaughtering woods is Weh (bad)...as the trees' death has no purpose within the cycle. . Alysrith does not kill to achieve death. That would be Weh. She kills to achieve Cirklaa...and in achieving Cirklaa...achieve a more pure state of Sra. . Alysrith feels in her spirit that the arrival of the Tora'sra will soon come, and that it is for her to prepare the way for the Tora'sra as best she can. Her life revolves around a vision of herself as the little storm that precedes and heralds the Tora'sra. . Added Mon Mar 4 21:52:39 2002 at level 29: . #1---------Introductions---------(Sylvan, Sz'sra)------------#1 . . . Alysrith speaks to Jhel'nra, shaman/healer of Yusweni, in the village of the K'sra: . . "Oh, Jhel'nra...long have I been away from the swamps. Long has it been since we spoke...since I received your guidance in the Sra. *sigh* When I was a girl, you were my spirit guide, and to Yusweni you led me...to all things Sra. Perhaps speaking to you from time to time in this sacred place of Sra will help me sort things out, so that I might know better the path of the coming storm...of the Tora'sra....the path that is best for the Sra. I know you are Pure in the Sra Jhel'nra...and that you will hear me not...because I see the Weh. Even though separated are we ever more from each others words, I will always seek your guidance in this place." . . "Much has happened since I left Ysigrath. I have finally found the place where my spirit belongs...A grove of Hunters of the K'sra not far from the swamps. The grove is called Sylvan, and to the chiefs...Boldereth and Loranessa I did speak. After many Hunts, and many talks, they did bring me into their 'pack.' They are strong in the Sra, and Hunt the Weh like none I have seen before. After my long sojourn through the Sra, my spirit has found a home." . . "I..I...have met Sz'sra! A biomancer of great power. *sigh* So much like a legend..almost a myth...he has been until now. A powerful K'sra...one who can do great things to aid the Sra. Perhaps he may some day aid me in preparing the way for the Tora'sra...but today he brings ill tidings. The Saugash may yet exist...Hybrid creatures of undead flesh wedded to the living.... much Weh. A favor he asked, that I keep eyes wide, and tell him should I see one. . "Ssithra and Sz'sra do not agree on many things. This much I know, but little else. Neither have spoken much on things past between them...but in Ssithra, long ago, I did sense much wariness of the biomancer. We both seek an end to Weh...and a Pure Sra it would seem. As the K'sra say, 'The wolf and the dog agree at the expense of the goat - which together they eat.' Should the Saugash be found, we shall Hunt the Weh together! Let us hope Ssithra's warriness is misplaced...let us hope that this dog is not rabid. *sigh* I guess time will tell, K'sra. I do not always agree with Ssithra either. Perhaps in Sz'sra I have found a new and powerful K'sra to aid the Hunt! Cirklaa! Weh massh Sra!" . --End #1----------------(Sylvan, Sz'sra)-------------------End #1--

"Oh Jhel'nra, long ago you and Ghyss began teaching me the ways of Sra, to perhaps one day lead the Hunters on after you. In the swamps, that did not occur, but Yusweni did bless me with a new home and strong Hunters to Hunt the Weh with. Now, He has made me Chief. Oh! Ghyss would be so proud! *sigh* Perhaps one day, when the Tora'sra comes, we will speak again... chief to chief...mother to daughter...for there will be no Weh to see. Oh, how I long for that day, K'sra!" . . "When Sz'sra told me that the Weh of the Saugash might still exist, I feared for the Sra. But long has it been since Sz'sra spoke to me...and never have I seen a Saugash. Long ago, when I was yet young, the children would whisper fearfully at night of Weh that crept in the vines where they slept. Older K'sra knew it to be merely the foolish fears of children, when the moon was new, and sleep feel upon them. It would seem that Sz'sra's tales are merely that...Weh in the vines. The better for Sra that they are." --End #2-------(To be Chief)-------(Weh in the Vines)------End #2--

Added Sat Apr 27 18:50:55 2002 at level 46: #4--------------------(Dreams of Weh)----------------------------#4 . . Every God has its Devil, every Hero it's Villain...to Alysrith, there is one thing she fears above all. The only thing that can bring eternal Weh instead of the eternal Sra of the Tora'sra. And so, Alysrith sleeps, and dreams...a nightmare of Weh: . . Cold dark winds swirl about a desert of bone and sand where a great Grove once stood. Alysrith looks about herself, and shivers. A ghost, she bears witness to the end....the end of all Sra. Scarabaeus stands upon the defiled corpse of the last Bear, grinning down at it's lone bleeding eye. The nine. The Nine! Nine Crowns of the Aryl'Khur have assembled...to awaken Nazmorghul from his long slumber. To face the Tora'sra in the final Hunt! To ring the final death knell of Sra. The sky stands darkened under the midday sun, as a few crowned faces become visible through the unnatural haze. . Around Scarabaeus, The Great Spirit of Weh, stand 8 Lichs of Power, chanting an ancient song of pain. To his right, Valguarnera, The Lesser Spirit of Weh, sneers down at the corpse in pleasure. To his left, Dullameh raises a clenched fist as he siphons the remaining embers of power out of the battered corpse. The rest of the Spawn of the Aryl'Khur remain hidden in darkness, save for the dull shine of their crowns. A shrill breathy cry rises up from the throats of the Nine as they call out to the Aryl'Khur to waken from his slumber. The ground shakes and shifts, bone creaking upon bone, until suddenly...silence. Silence...and dread. A Trumpet sounds somewhere in Valhalla, as an age comes to an end. . . Alysrith wakes with a start, drenched in fearful sweat, screaming. "Noooooo! The Nine! The keys must be broken! Cirklaa! Weh massh Sra! Two have ascended, but seven remain to come. Any price! Any price must be paid! They must be destroyed before the Tora'sra comes! The Nine must not be allowed to ascend!" Exhausted, she passes out...to sleep...and dream. . (Not exactly Nazmorghul's religion, but outsiders usually misunderstand religions outside their own. And keys do not always know the doors they can unlock.) . Added Tue Sep 17 00:05:51 2002 at level 51: #5----------------(And all come to know Cirklaa)--------------------#5 . . Oh Jhel'nra, strong is your faith in Yusweni, and long do you live. Much has happened since last I spoke to you. Two Spawn of Aryl'Khur did rear their ugly heads in Sra. Though I brought each closer to the end of their Weh...one key was broken...but the other ascended. I pray it will be enough to deny the Aryl'Khur a waking moment. . Also Jhel'nra, I have grown old, as all K'sra do...and the time draws near when I will come to know Cirklaa. The Hunters of the Grove have once again grown strong, and well do they Hunt the Weh. But soon they will need a new Chief to lead them...to guide them in preparing the way for the Tora'sra. . Althouth it saddens me, this will be the last time I will speak to you, K'sra, for there is much to be done, and I have little time left. The Hunters of the Grove must be ready for what comes...and as Chief...I must prepare them. Always have I cherished our times, and your guidance. But as with all things, there are ends...and beginnings. . . Vorsweni K'sra. The day will soon dawn in Sra. . End #5-------------(And all come to know Cirklaa)--------------End #5
