In the days that follow Nyastren's spell, word circulates that the Vault of Nyastren seems, now, to be empty, although many things formerly believed to be inside have been spotted in the hands of adventurers and elsewhere.

Of the Orb of Adun'thul itself, nothing reliable has yet been heard. A deadly storm yet rages across the Sea of Despair, annihilating all that venture too close to its rift.

Scholar and magi everywhere report that the strength of the very power of magic has begun to fluctuate erratically. Even simple spells often seem to fail or worse.

All things that depend on the power of magic seem uncertain. In one way or another, almost everything in Thera does.

(Incidentally, this does include the Battleragers, in an inverse sort of way. Also incidentally, magic is sometimes weak, but it's also sometimes strong.)
