Spheres: Beauty, Creation, Fire

ESHVAL 'BLACK FLAME' BLACKFLAME 'BLACK RADIANCE' BLACKRADIANCE
Some say that she is mad, and that those who are inspired to follow her are
infected with the same madness.

Eshval is the patroness of that which brings terror through artistic expres-
sion. She dwells in the places where few dare walk, and those who do, never
speak of what they have seen ... or never speak again. Through fevered
dreams and the sweet touch of madness, she inspires her followers to explore
the forbidden, to create beauty, both living and dead. Her artisans have
long labored in their secret places, creating sanguinary works to adorn the
Muse's macabre gallery. Now she bids them forth, to bring the dark grandeur
of her inspiration to a lackluster world.

The Black Fire that is Eshval, is the unrestrained and unfettered creative
source within sentients. It creates and recreates...nothing is destroyed or
lost, rather all things are crafted anew in the constant pursuit of perfec-
tion. Hers is a dark, creative fire that casts no light, yet within its
darkness, lies the glory of discovery. In the dark whispers of Eshval,
there is a beauty more frightening than any may comprehend. It is through
her burning caresses and gentle urgings that the secrets of the soul are
explored so the Inspired might fully understand, accept and revel in their
discoveries.

The beauty created by the Inspired is often termed macabre, deviant, or even
sick by the Uninspired, but their opinion matters not. The Uninspired are
mere canvases and raw materials...little more than a collection of body
parts, organs, fluids, and souls for the followers of Eshval to use as they
desire. It is known that many of the Uninspired vie for such an exalted
position, though a very few others shun the honor of becoming so glorified,
and require further convincing.

As each possesses equally, the capacity for great evil and great good, it
is the Black Flame of Eshval that inspires and guides us to challenge and
exceed the moral, intellectual and societal constraints of the uninspired
minds. It is through the acts of creation that we reclaim, acknowledge and
accept that part of us which has been denied. To the Inspired, naught shall
be denied, nothing shall be hidden, secluded or forbidden.

To those whom Eshval deems Uninspired, their lives are often made so
miserable that they pray for release. Should it amuse her, she may extend
her mercy and offer such, but such events are not without cost. Usually,
however, she does not waste her mercy on those, instead bringing them to her
Gallery, where their suffering is unlimited by time and flesh. Only those
who have truly given themselves to her should ever seek her attention

through their deeds or actions. Unwittingly or unworthily attracting her
eye, is at the best madness, at the worst deadly. No one escapes her
Gallery.

It is said that the Inspired may be found at the Crossroads Between Worlds,
in a raven-haunted forest, where darkness reigns and the shadows dance.
