So, the fun differentiator with my trolls is that the more people they get fed, the bigger and somewhat stronger they get - and they wouldn't have to murder the people themselves, just get fed a fresh corpse from whomever. Everyone wants a troll they keep and feed then unleash when ready!
- Can't duel wield weapons, but do dual wield their off hand. - Do a lot of grabbing and smashing. - Vuln fire of course
Fun Skills:
* Block exit Trolls love to block passage. If someone tries to flee in a direction a troll has decided to plant himself, good possibility they will fail. If someone tries to walk that direction and troll can see them, they will fail unless they attack him and try to flee, or if he stops blocking. This is different from a centurion, don't start!
* Grab Getting grabbed by a troll means you are about to get smashed, chomped , or squished. If you are grabbed, you are effectively immobilized for a few moments - like if you were tied or trussed, but you can cast (you aren't gagged), and of course sing, commune etc - which would restart the melee fight. To balance this, classes with dodge are harder to grab. Groupmates, other players etc. can't attack a grabbed opponent, but don't worry, it doesn't last long.
* Smash Throw a grabbed victim to the ground, stunning him, and attacking again.
* Chomp Take a big bite out of your grabbed victim, big damage, restarting melee fight.
* Squeeze Mild constriction damage, extending the grab and giving troll a few more breaths to heal. Chance to fail with each squeeze and person gets freed.
* Nothing If you do nothing, you let go of person at next tick, a few rounds, I don't know, and your opponent is back in business.
* Feed Eat a PC corpse, and all kinds of definitely-not-an-AP-charge-clone things happen. Improve % in skills. Maybe eat enough go up to giant size and get resist physical. More, up to... dragon size? Again, you don't have to kill the PC corpse, just eat it.
* Racial Scent The more of a race you eat, the better you are at noticing that race when in the same area (danger sense), or if you can't see, same room when they enter.
* One-hand polearm/spear Trolls who are big and strong enough can wield a spear/polearm in one hand, leaving the other hand free for grabbing.
* Roar Super warcry - chance to shortly deafen in same room - bigger bonuses the higher your % is. Big trouble indoors or a cave. Everyone in area hears it.
* Acid Blast Can vomit acid at his opponent, chance to blind them.
* Greedy Morale The more gold a troll carries, the higher his morale. Maybe a damage or skill bonus too.
* Bloodsteep * Troll regen * Resist blunt * Bash * Pin * etc.
Now, the proper reaction to this post is: Wouldn't this be cool? Improper reaction is: This isn't like trolls at all, you are stupid.
