You'd rather spend 15-20 hours power ranking a shifter and tossing out and re-writing good roles than spend 1-2 hours running through a few areas?!

This sounds like an underhanded attempt at bitching about obs/exp system to me because otherwise that seems like an awfully ridiculous waste of time.
