#41355, "1 and 2 round spell question."

I admit I don't know how saves fully work as far as pure damage goes. I assume for most spells there is 1-2 saves at most with spellcraft factoring in. But, I've always wondered, do 2 round spells in any way shape or form get a bonus to being harder to save against for the higher tier of damage?
I know for the most part, the damage is probably tweaked to the perfect amounts in your guys eyes over the the years to make 2 round spells better than certain 1 rounders all based on possible maledictions, or utility like getting around spellbane. I just wanted to understand the spell system a little better from a code perspective.
