#3121, "suggestion/question/idea"

Caveat: this may or may not already be in effect.

I've always thought certain skills should have a penalty attached to them when the target can see the attacker. Mostly stealthy type skills that require the attacker to maneuver into close proximity to the target before striking. Ex. blackjack, strangle, knockout poison, possibly choke.

From a realism point of view, it seems like it should be much easier to sneak up behind someone and clap a poisoned cloth around his face when he can't see you creeping up.

From a gameplay point of view this would mainly hurt thieves and benefit duergar and assassins. Assassins' ability to strangle suffers but they gain a leg up vs. thieves and strangle isn't widely used anyway. Duergar win any way you slice it.

To mitigate the effect of the tweak, maybe boost how often they work against people who *can't* see the thief/assassin/whip-spec.

By "can't see" I'm including blindness, dirt in their eyes, lack of detect invisible (when the attacker is invisible), etc.
