'NET' ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Syntax: net <target>
Using this common method of immobilizing enemies, an orc can effectively reduce one's dexterity, number of attacks per round, and the ability to take belongings from within a container. Switching weapons under this condition will be nearly impossible, and fleeing will also be somewhat more difficult. The orc will have to be holding the net for this to work, and will be able to attack less than usual. The strength of the orc compared to the strength of its victim will play a large part in how long the netting can be maintained.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mechanics of the skill:
While caught in a net, others will be effectively earthbound, though tripping them will be more difficult due to the mass of netting on the ground and whatnot. Bashing will work the same. Really strong opponents, such as giants, can usually overpower the net, which will tear it from the orc's hand and leave the orc stunned for a round. Each round there will be a check for strength, to see if the orc can maintain the hold. It should be noted that injured opponents have a much harder time getting free of the net than healthy ones, regardless of strength. I'm not sure exactly what to say about the fleeing aspect, as I could see that being really gang-bang-a-rific. I can only say that it would have to make it more difficult. Also, larger foes would be harder to net, and smaller ones easier. The main benefit you might see from this is when an orc has to fight an air form, or a really quick warrior. The skill would have little use in ranking. Nets will have to be bought in the orc village. The skill can only be used when initiating combat, though I could see the non-tanker orcs being able to throw nets....the problem would be that they might net the wrong person. Some command should allow the orc to release the net if he wants.
Comments, concerns? I tried to balance this as much as possible, so let me know if I missed anything. Bizarro I'm helping!
