when I do it is because the role I have envisioned fits a female character more apporpriately then a male. I don't see it as funny or a subconscience desire to experience life as a woman, anymore then playing a necromance is a desire to experience life as a twisted, demonic mage. So all in all, it is just for RP reasons for me at least.
