What sense is it to create an entire range of classes to be purposefully inferior?
Mages should -situationally- have the capability to stand toe to toe with a melee class in the 30s through 40s. Yes, it requires preparation and exploration on the mage's part. I'm fine with that. The system almost works.
I'm not fine with your bottom line. Mages should not require elite knowledge and skills to be competitive, nor should they be pigeon-holed to be extremely conservative or group-oriented. That's inane.
Barrier has not been a part of this conversation, yet, either, and I'm quite fine with that. I wouldn't care if barrier had a level 43+ restriction.
As I have said, the change to the abs system did not address what I see as a larger issue - levels 30 through 40, the unplayable zone of the mage class.
