I've used the carrionfields.com/telnet link a few times over skype here lately to show the mud to folks I've met online (Travian):

Two issues come to light

1) It might be useful to put some NAME RULES before the name prompt.

Two people told me they got denied access a few times, then just quit trying.

2) The Java client works, but it ain't all that user friendly.
