Chapter 2

For months after Keinte could think of little else. Up to now his
short life had been without purpose, his outlook had changed and he
knew what he wanted to do with his life. His forays into the city became
more of a test as he tried to go unnoticed moving from shadow to shadow
like his hero had. But he knew training on his own would only take him
so far. So he searched out for others to train him, and after many more
months, and countless rumours, and misdirections, he finally found the
secret entrance to the guild of assassins. Although Keinte was prepared
to undergo a rigorous interview and be subjective to many tests, they
accepted him without hardly a question, perhaps knowing the weak would
be culled from their ranks anyway.
Keinte's training had now begun.
