Chapter 1

Sszdeth Zaknagharlyn was born in Teth Azeleth, in the Underdark to a minor
house with poor standing in drow society. This house, like all drow abodes
are led by the matron mother, however it was well known she fell in love with
a human male and this led to the houses' status and position looked upon
inauspiciously by our goddess Lloth, the Spider Queen. Still plotting and
scheming was done to seek advancement in the city through means done unseen
in the shadows.

Being born to this minor house on the outer rim of the city would always
bring many challenges. Males were always second tier to females and expected
to follow their commands invariably ... it seemed I was not so good at
following orders. Not seen as worthy to train with the weapons master, for
years I was used as a lowly scout which I always knew was beneath me. I hated
my mother and what she had done to this house and to me and I would prove
them all wrong. Any spare moment I watched the weapons master of the house in
awe of the master's speed and agility and knew one day I would fight as well
as him. I trained in secret developing my abilities during all those years
spent scouting the Underdark. Training to be ready for the inevitable day my
house would be struck upon by another looking to improve their position. It
could not come soon enough...

After many years and many wars with other houses she still never managed to
regain Lloths favour. This house was not a powerful one and would never be
because of my mother's weaknesses. In was only a matter of time before we
were destroyed by another house seeking advancement. Throughout my youth I
knew only war, blood, execution and anger. I had never had any interest in
the house's position nor internal politics. I was driven only by the kill,
the moment when my blade pierced my enemy and they drew their last breath. I
thrived on the death of my enemy and found it to be a compulsion that needed
sating. Their destruction gave me strength and then and only then I was
at peace, if only for a short time.

My name Sszdeth means 'silent blood taker' in the drow tongue and during one
dark night it had come. The house was being attacked by another and all was
going to hell. We had little chance and before we were overrun I snuck past
mother's guards and drove my dagger into her throat. I had bided my time and
waited for this moment for many years. At that moment seeing my mother draw
her last breath strength flowed through my body. They should not have
underestimated me.

At that time I left the confines of the Underdark. My only thoughts were
about my next victim. I joined the guild of a master assassin where I will
learn the silent art of death and use it to bring these compulsions upon my
enemies. I would be strong and cull the weak of the world. I would never show
weakness like my mother bitch. I will be drow!

Death will come to all.
