Chapter 2

Beyond the Open sea, lies the Eastern continent, it is dominated by the
great volcano, Mount Kiadana-Rah, which is inhabited by ancient fierce race
of fire giants. The race has given birth to many warriors, who strike
fear to its enemies, even if their homeland is under siege by the storm
giants. Kaer, on the other hand, was not one of those warriors.

He was of course born to a typical family of a warrior, and would
have been destined to follow his father's steps if not for being
humpbacked. Not being material for adventurer guilds or even a
worker, he was destined to drag out a miserable existence of a
janitor, a baby sitter and eventually a dog meat, as fire giants are
rarely known for compassion.

Because of his deformity, he had plenty of time on his hands, but not
being able to fight, he was often spending it sitting by the bank of
the lava stream, watching the molten earth flowing. Other times he was
just sitting at his father's home, staring at the fire pit, listening
to the fire cracking, enjoying the sparks dancing above the flame. At
these moments, he imagined himself to be a great warrior, laying waste
to the ranks of storm giants that were assaulting his home.

Years were passing, and Kaer kept staring to the fire and lava streams.
Slowly this observation has become but the only thing he was doing
in his spare time, which was all of his time, obviously. The beauty of
the flame, pictures it showed him, the dreams of what he would never
become in the real life have crept into his mind and flooded it slowly.
All he was eager of, what he longed for, what he strived for - was
the flame and visions the flame provided to him.
