Chapter 4

The three drow made their way up to the surface to see how well their new
experiment went. What they did not know was they were expected. Once they
got outside the mouth of the cave, the ground shook and the mountainside came
down, closing the entrance. At that moment twelve cloaked figured materialized
around the three suprised magi and their giant.

One of the figures spoak in a croaking dry voice. "You thought the tower would
let you just leave with the secrets you've been given, Archmage? You are now
stripped of that title." At that moment the twelve figures clapped their hands
and numerous large golems and constructs of many different looking materials
appeared behind the cloaked figures, and slowly began moving toward the drow
and Kurbrawn.

Without hesitating the Archmage drew his sword and wand and gave Kurbrawn his
last command. "Kurbrawn, kill them all!" He drew his blades and went after
the golem closest to him. Before he could even swing his head caught a blow
and he was knocked to the ground.

"That's the best you could do? Now what do you want your last words to be?"
said one of the cloaked figures.

The Archmage replied, "He was our first experiment."

The twelve figures all laughed and one spoke, "Strange last words" as the
twelve raised the hands and pointed at the three drow and said "die".

The three drow fell to their feet, dead. At that moment the three collars
around Kurbrawn's neck poofed into dust.

"Let us leave him, he has done us no wrong." The figures bowed their heads

and a black mist slowly enveloped them all, and in a moment they were gone.

Shortly after the figures left him, Kurbrawn woke up in a daze. He looked
around him and saw three drow, two male and a female, dead on the ground
before him. He checked his surroundings to find nothing but footprints of
many different beings, and a pair of blades. He remembered nothing, nothing
but his name, Kurbrawn. He didn't know where he was, but it looked to him
he was in a battle, from all the tracks, and the blades felt good in his
hands. The blades felt good in his hands, they felt good to swing.
Knowing his name and how to swing a blade, he ventured off to
find someone who could help him see through the darkness
that clouded his mind.
