Chapter 2

Kurbrawn had not seen light for some time how. Being bound and blindfolded, he
was disoriented and had no idea how long it had been. He only knew he was so
hungry he could eat his blindfold. He was lucky to find that stagnant puddle
of cave water. Putrid and disgusting, but at least he didn't have to worry of
thirst.

He heard footsteps and the loud banging of the door being opened. He heard many
different sets of feet come in and surround him. He heard voices, one he did
recognize, but many he did not.

"Now we told you to be careful, he is a wild one. We haven't giving him food
for a few days now, so he will be easier to handle," said the drill general.

A soft hissing voice pierced Kurbrawn's ears. "This one will do, I will take
the word of your supieriors, general. Take him to the surface, our wagon has
a cage for him, and Helenga awaits eagerly. She cannot wait to see her new
specimen."

Kurbrawn heard the pitter patter of people leaving the cell. A few moments
after he heard two large sets of footsetps enter the cell. The two guards
each took an arm and picked him up. Kurbrawn had been thinking about what
to make his escape since he woke up and couldn't break his chains. He now
crossed his fingers and hoped it would work.

Kurbrawn knew the doorway was only big enough for one giant to pass through.
After all, this wasn't his first time in chains. Once he could tell the
guards were walking strait for the door, Kurbrawn stopped dragging his feet
and ran as fast as he could for the cell entrance, hoping he would pass
through the doorway and the guards would each bash into the walls on either
side. The force of the abrubt hault nearly pulled Kurbrawn's arms from his
shoulders, but it worked. Kurbrawn found the keys on the guards and un-
binded himself. He knew were he was, and made ran for the surface of the
underground training barracks he was in. He came to the door that lead
outside and listened to see if it was safe to leave. At that moment he
felt a small cold hand upon his head and hear a soft voice whisper in his
hear "sleep" and everything went blank.

It was minutes later that the alarm horns sounded and the guards had found
Helenga standing over Kurbrawn's body. "Put him in the cage and bind him!
If I have to raise another hand it will be to end you life!"

The guards bound Kurbrawn in multible shackles and chains, making sure
he would not give any more trouble.
