Chapter 2

Woldrun has chosen a Drillmaster for the third time since becoming Commander.
It was a very difficult decision, between Malakhi, Gahdak, and Susubienko. All
fought well in his mini-trials at the Arena. All answered well in his discussions
in the War Room. All had their own faults that he informed them they must work on:
Gahdak was too quick to call people a coward.
Susubienko had an annoying way of whining in a "veiled" way to make it seem as if
she was not really whining.
Malakhi spent too much time worrying about the Maran instead of focusing on magi.

In the end, Woldrun selected Susubienko. The deciding factor was her efficiency at
ending magi. Perhaps a foolish thing to base things on, but her skill in battle
cannot be denied.
