Chapter 2

Much has changed in the life of Iltch. After a long jaunt of Kiraan leading
the Seekers by himself, Iltch was chosen to take his place as Rhyme while
Kiraan became Meter. Iltch sees this as a mixed blessing. On one side he is
able to take care of the Seekers of Balance that are parasites of the Island
and contribute nothing, on the other hand much controversy and whining
accompanied him taking the position. He has been a fair Rhyme thus far,
bringing in those who wish to join and aren't complete morons. But he has
guaranteed all of them not to be fooled by the ease with which they are
admitted, that a wrong step could lead them for a swim to a place away from
the Island. He feels that being in a position of leadership will also help
turn Twist's eyes to him and see about gaining some of his magic back, and
though he has tried to contact Twist he has not been successful.

The guild is flourishing. When Iltch took the title of Bandit King, there
were fifteen guild mebers, now there are 22. From Iltch's network he has
learned that the Galadon guild has far fewer numbers, though near to 320
Million more coins in donations. Though it seems odd, Iltch has hopes of
bringing his guild to that kind of prosperity on his own, and has already
given 1/60th of the coin the guild currently holds. 10,000,000 copper worth.


On that note, how he is getting his wealth for now..

Iltch kept a wary eye towards the Scions growing up, and found Ravon and
Llorenz to be a very formidable pair to be avoided at first. But after
seeing the kind of treasures they run around with on a day to day basis, he
figured it was worth the risk to get some of the power out of their hands.
He intercepted an item and upon researching the history
of the item heard that it held properties of Luck. Upon testing it he found
his gambling successes much better, though he still lost a lot.The luckiest
person he knew at the time was the Herald Lauriel. He knew she would
appreciate an adventure, and story, and especially the illusion that she was
caught up in the middle of it.

He wove Lauriel a tale of Scions taking over the world, of Druktrar enslaving
the world and all those in it. He told her that this staff was one of the
key materials they needed to open their portal, and he knew he would die
because they knew he had it. He asked her to keep it safe, and keep it
secret.He then told her of the magical properties of luck it carried, and
pretty soon had her convinced to gamble for him. Sure enough after a few
rolls of the dice she recognized the gift for what it was and made an
enormous amount of gold. Iltch walked away with 7,000 gold from the
experience. Since then Lauriel has had upwards of 100,000 gold from
gambling. Iltch is keeping a wary eye on her ability to be trusted, she has
been spending gold in vast amounts on others, throwing it around even in his
opinion. He sent her a note warning her further of her extravangance and the
eyes it would move towards her, but who knows if she will heed it. All in
all it is a worthy investment so far.

Iltch has several strategies for fighting and is enjoying the life that the
binder guild has brought him. Nimble, quick, and able to change strategy at
