Onyx Road

This is the outer road that shadows the walls of Udgaard. A narrow
pedestrian walkway runs along the west side of the road and on the edge
of it is a tall post with a lantern hanging from it. To the south,
Onyx Road continues to descend along the east wall, and to the north
it rises sharply. The walls are made of stones that have been carefully
cemented together to protect both from those who would tear down the
city and from the elements that dominate this harsh land. To the west
Emerald Avenue runs through the center of the city and to the east you
can see the east gate of Udgaard. The cobblestones that make up the
road surface are well worn, but in good shape for the amount of travel
that they see.

Emerald Avenue
This is the main road that bisects the city running from east to west.
Emerald Road continues to the east toward the gate and to the west
toward the center of town. It is broad enough for several horses to
ride side by side, and the condition of the cobblestones suggests that
this has been done many times. The houses on this street run right up
to the edge or the street, but there is a broad sidewalk allowing
pedestrians to travel safely without being run down by soldiers and
carriages. On the curb of the sidewalk is a tall post with a lantern
hanging from it. To the north you see the entrance to the eastern
barracks and to the south is a large red house.
