68902, How are about to boost villagers a bit?
Posted by Beront on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
They always have a problem with the mobility. The can't go far from the village. So just give them some kind of the recall skill with the long long cooldown.
68928, No.

1) There's no way I can currently envision that in which it manages to fit themically within Rager.

2) Other ideas have been suggested in the past that I'd much prefer to just hacking in recall. As one example, Battle-friendly NPCs about that aid rager in mv-related ways.

3) The rager box is a crutch and trap Ragers constantly put themselves in. Half the time it's easier lose someone just by NOT going to the Village, because everyone assumes you're going to.

4) I think the larger village problem isn't powers & restrictions, but the process of application. I'd like to move some of the induction requirements a little later down the process, but that's dependant on how prettily I can bat my eyes at the coders.
68933, Give them the Forced march?

Perfect suits villagers dogma.

With Sekope I got a huge amount of mileage from Seasoned Traveller, something like this to me seems to fit the dogma of the cabal well given well you have to walk everywhere.
68924, I don't think a change of powers is the right way at to go
Posted by laxman on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
It is tough to say but I think a pivot in the role of the village is more appropriate than changing powers. The player density of natural enemies took a blow with the loss of nexus and scion. Maybe entropy grows in time to fill that niche but it is by default more restrictive than what it replaced.

Perhaps expansion along the lines of pride to include blade sect and marans as those who need to be bested? Maybe even bringing that idea of being a counterweight to whoever is in power as nexus did. Mixed with the ingrained value of parity village might make sense as the bringer of "balance" cabal.
68927, Just to make it clear, battle has average 5 members in a last year
Posted by Beront on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Nobody wants to play that cabal. So either remove it or boost it. The have more then enough enemies to fight.

As someone who's played more than a few ragers, I'd say that the drawback of no recall, while tough, is appropriate given their powers.

The lower player numbers have given ragers a boost considering that there are more one-on-one battles and fewer enemies to follow-up after you kill the first (or to attack you when you retreat to the village).

If anything needs a boost in CF, it is without question thieves. They were not strong before Devious Versatility was nerfed and now they are even worse. They can be strong in the right cabal at mid-levels, but at hero are way to niche.

Considering they are one of the archetypal characters, there are very few around and there's a reason.
68920, They are the best class at stealing.

I tell you who is weak though. ####ing healers. Can't kill ####.
68907, I have a counter-proposal
Posted by Murphy on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Remove all means of recall from the game.
68908, This is why
Posted by Beront on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
People like you should stay from the game balancing. Too bad that nowdays we see exactly the opposite. Hearthstone, sc2 and more more more. Those balancers live in their special "manyaworld" with pink ponies and unicorns and do gamechanges based on their expirience in that world of happy ponies. Needless to say, it destroys games.
68909, Hypocrite.

68914, Shouldnt be able to eat seaweed either...
Posted by Lhydia on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
...if they can't use portals.

Or just make seaweed emetic poison too.
68916, I should probably be more clear
Posted by Murphy on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
My "counter-proposal" was sarcasm.

What I actually meant was "Remove Battle cabal. Problem solved."
68917, I don't think they are ready to let it go yet. Drillmaster just tried. n/t

It's shocking how stupid you are.

Bad enough you fall for the ridiculously obvious lie that I was played by Stevers. That's really just the stupidest thing I've ever heard. You notice he hasn't actually posted any logs? Or said anything that I didn't already say here? You're dumber than dumb to believe that.

But even worse that you like to continue the trolling about wanting to kill the cabal. That's you. You couldn't hack it. Of course we know the real reason though, as you've already commented you don't want to roleplay, you just want to do what you want to do.

Anywho, at the very least, don't be such an idiot to believe stevers. You realize how much he's laughing at you now right?
68922, Is that meant for me or jalim?
Posted by Murphy on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Dunno about Jalim but having interacted with Phelzhis once, I don't think it was Stevers.
68923, RE: Is that meant for me or jalim?
Posted by Phelzhis on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Meant for him. Saw on dios he's still falling for stever's ####.
68929, help seaweed (n/t)

.
68930, I honestly think there's a grain of truth there.
Posted by Jormyr on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Not really in the entirety, but I do believe the ease of recall and teleport potions has gotten out of hand. I've been of the opinion quite awhile that assorted escape techniques could use downgrading so we actually get some bodies again. MOAR BLOOD!
68931, If you want more bodies
Posted by Kstatida on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Make more lagging abilities for classes that lack any :)

P.S. Oh and fix the lag bug, it's really annoying. See Murphy's logs, they're full of lag bugs that let people escape.

Isn't moves like the only drawback villagers get?

So remove it and you need to remove deathblow to balance it?
68905, RE: How are about to boost villagers a bit?
Posted by Beront on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Reread my post again. Its not about moves, its about the recall with 200 ticks cooldown.

Ps:Fyi, only one path in the village has the deathblow.
68918, I have a feeling
Posted by TJHuron on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
He isn't making this suggestion to make it easier for him to play a rager.

He's making it to break the rager box and open up more pk opportunity.

That would put him on the opposite end of the spectrum from all the deathblow haters out there.

Some see ragers as pk opportunities. Some are afraid of being one-rounded by DB.
68903, I'm pretty sure Knights had it
Posted by Kstatida on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
And it raised A LOT of bitching.
