68563, Practicing scrolls

I recited 186 scrolls with 44% learning bonus and 23 int.

Twice my scroll skill improved (total of 3%)

I don't recall it being that difficult to improve. Maybe I was just unlucky?

Is skill learn.

Melee classes set it on evade. Mages should do wands first, then scrolls, then talismans.

While non gnomes will be slower, the last gnome I played had all 3 at 95+ by level 30 with zero spamming.

What level were the scrolls that you were reciting, compared to your level?

Well I dont think I've tried to master scrolls for 15 years or so, but if it follows a similar pattern to anything else, and it seems like your gains are from mistakes, it might be worth while to master it at a lower level, when the scrolls are higher level than you, I'm not sure, but I think that should force more failures, and therefore more chances to get better at your mistakes. For your current situation, try with 100 level 51 scrolls and see how your results vary (if I am right it should yield positive returns at a higher rate then you are getting with your current method).

Probably if you can get berserk/golden platemail effect for the extra -10% you can force even more mistakes.

I'm pretty certain you cannot improve with scrolls that are higher level then you. However, using scrolls that are the same level as you will definitely make a difference. Mastering scrolls at low level is MUCH easier than at higher levels. Poems work well for this.
