20397, (WANTED) edge ideas

Being on the lam is cool guy: Knowing that being on the run from the law is the very essence of all that is cool, this guy receives a permanent bonus to his moral for maintaining his criminal status. Bonuses for mainting it a long time.

#### the police guy: This guy hates the police and all they represent (haters). He gets off on killing guards, tribunals, and people in protected cities. Moral bonuses for above (small/short for low level guards, medium/short for high level, long/medium for joe citizen, and long/big for johnny law.)

Sneaky/shady/cowardly criminal guy: Bonuses for escaping guards (fleeing). Mutually exclusive with #### the police guy.

City Familiarity : Can move faster within protected city walls.

Criminal Rage : More damage vs guards.

Master Criminal Rage : Much more damage vs guards while wanted.

There's an increased chance for manacles and bloody shackles to fail on you, especially (or only) from people in PK.

Tricky Dodger:

This edge is cumulative with and is similar to the Evasive edge, provided you aren't an Outlander and you are a thief, bard, assassin or elf/drow, you get bonuses to evading skills in cities. If you have this edge and become an Outlander, you lose it without reimbursement. This edge both makes sense for rogue types and helps because they are some of the classes that are harmed the most by other people's skills, especially command denial in the mob-assisted ganks but the inability to get a first strike in a variety of situations is also an argument for this.

Banditry:

Shopkeepers have a chance to do business with you based on your charisma and size. Intimidation is a factor here, though the LIST command will still always cause the shopkeeper to blow your cover, so this won't work forever but it's a good way for reknowned criminals to force shoppies to give them return potions and such on occasion. Since most of the shopkeepers track and are hero level, I don't see this being too big an issue because of the costs when it fails.

I always thought that Orderly people should get a bonus to killing criminals. How about:
Just Rewards: Gives you a small boost to healing and morale for a while after killing a criminal. Only pickable by Orderly and Stackable. :)

Long Arm of the Law: Harder for criminals to flee when fighting. Orderly and must have killed 5 criminals.

Chance to evade the guards on eastern road when running down it.

It would surely be useful, but doesn't make much sense. I can randomly evade one type of aggressive enemy, but not others?

Same deal for the "orderly gets bonus against criminals" edges ORB suggested. Orderly != "Lawful". I've always thought orderly meant methodical, organized, governed by some set of internal rules. There's nothing to say an orderly person couldn't be one of the worst criminals ever.

Just had a way for it to make sense:

Disguise. The guards aren't aggro to everyone, just criminals. So maybe the edge represents a character's ability to disguise himself.

Some other perks you could add: ability to purchase goods from town merchants who normally don't sell to criminals. Ability to enter the Inn of the Eternal Star while wanted.

You'd have to make "more powerful" guard mobs see through it, though. Or maybe have it not work while the criminal's adrenaline is high. Otherwise it seems like too powerful an effect for a single edge.

you should know they are there, and able to dodge or sprint past them.

While I do agree with you that orderly does not mean lawful in all cases and more so I think that is exactly what was intended by changing the ethos options from lawful to orderly. I think in practice though it defaults to orderly = lawful unless a player makes a concerted effort to RP it otherwise.

This default is reinforced within the game when all members of the cabal that must enforce laws must be orderly and the members of the cabal that is most opposed to them must not be orderly.
