at the time there was no commander/drillmaster and the heroimm was doing the best he could, but i play at weird times as you all know so i did not get inducted until 35ish and (also this is my first villager this decade so i have been out of the loop for awhile)then yes it did seem like a huge change but i was still getting my face raped off by different warriors, gangs and such and scion conjures.....

at hero i would say it is a little different, one on one there is allot of close fights that seem to be able to go either way, but it seems like more of one sided fight on the villager side at least with my build(not saying i am super pk'er like twist because i am so not even close to that) i am not a instant loser in many fights except for maybe mummies (thought i did kill cot twice and got tavlin to convulsing yeah me) or cranialing gorillas with shawtabbies, and of course the the ever deathful nexun bard but at hero i think it is much more balanced out, is this the same for all builds? i am sure not ,so there is a lot of factors in it that i am not sure changing village powers or level would really have anything to do with it.

I think overall we just have to accept that with every class (unless you are the entropy lich of course) and cabal there is always someone out there that just has the key to your lock and there is nothing you can do about it.... everyone has something out there that just is the rock to your scissors and there is nothing you can do...maybe midrank villagers have the dynamite to throw in with thier rock and scissors but there is plenty of villagers making it to hero with 15 con to say that is not totally correct....

p.s. ended up longer than i thought and did not get into all the detail i was going to but that is my general feelings on it guess i will post the rest with my condeah thread :)
