3766, about Desensitize...

DESENSITIZE
Syntax: cast 'desensitize'

This spell divorces the transmuter from his or her sense of pain in an
attempt to limit the trauma of injury. It provides a limited resistance
to all attacks. While under its influence, the transmuter will be less
able to assess their own physical attributes, and will underestimate
physical damage done to them. Also, they will be unable to feel if
abilities are currently helping or hindering their more physical
attributes.

I'm no transmuter but I found a prep that gives it. Now it's easy to understand the small protections it gives but i wonder about the part that says "will be less able to assess their own physical attributes, and will underestimate physical damage done to them. Also, they will be unable to feel if abilities are currently helping or hindering their more physical attributes."

1) Does that means I loose track of the real HP i'm loosing while fighting and can die thinking I still have a 25% of them?

2) Do you have an example of abilities being helped? (ex: more damage per hit, or whatever else) and abilities being hindered?

3) What are the general pros and con of desensitize? I see many people using the prep and I wonder if those who don't are mainly Villagers or the ones who don't know where to find it.

Thank you for your help.

Not complete info though, I don't use desensitize that much.
1) You cannot see your full affects list.
2) The damage counters that you see will not be accurate. e.g. A dismembers might look like a mutilate.
3) Most of the time you can still see your current hp, its just the amount of damage being dealt to you becomes inaccurate. So if you look at your prompt you're still fine.
4) You get some damage redux, between 10 to 15% (which is why its so awesome)
Most classes with a short affects list will find the damage redux worth the drawbacks. For those who have a massively long affects list e.g. paladin, some mages, will have to pay close attention when using desensitize, especially in group fights where they face the threat of being dispelled, and need to put up the most important protections up as quickly as possible.

That clarify it a lot for me.

Thank you!
