I second Twist's idea. If you read more than book one, it's completely worthwhile to look up a summary or two and get back in. The "Gathering of Storms"/Tower of Midnight/Memory of Light is awesome with the last book being so much action I felt like it should have been done in the prologue. Also morally and thematically satisfying when it comes together.
