1977, CF should offer military xp discounts to active duty soldiers.

Mostly just bitching because what little time I get to play is wasted ranking.:)

1978, I personally feel it's dangerous to hold soldiers above citizenry. n/t

Seriously.
1979, Yeah, you read Starship Troopers?
Posted by trewyn on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Not the movie, the movie blows compared to the book.
1980, No but I've been meaning too citizen.
Posted by Pro on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
My brother loved it.

1981, somewhat agreed..
Posted by Dreth on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I generally agree. That being said, I do work a lot of whack hours
in my quest to be as bamf as I can be when it comes time to take
care of business.

Futhermore, it was a half hearted request i had no real hope for.

1982, What's your MOS? n/t

1983, And if you are a soldier...
Posted by Pro on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Army training won't make you a bamf, it will make you think you are.

Bamfness comes from within.

What's more, it's unbecomming of a soldier to ask for special consideration.

If there's not a sign that says "Military Discount" don't ask. The staff and players are already paying your salary.

I just came out of retirement and am trying to get to Afganistan in the next couple months.
1984, Hmm.
Posted by Dreth on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
What capacity are you trying to go to the stan under, if youre coming out of retirement?

I hold two MOS, the most recent being 13f. Im in the process of picking up a third, although ive got
almost two more years here at swcs for that.

Your bamf insight is appreciated, but unnecessary.

You are a bit too serious, and I am no fuzzy chest soldier.:)

Apologies for the sloppiness. Posting via phone.
1985, You can't be a bamf with a 13 series MOS.

Sorry son. Unless you get attached to a light infantry unit in the 101st.

If you really wanted to be a warrior you should have gone 11 boogaloo. Then you wouldn't have to ask for anything, you could just take it.
1986, and I stopped drilling a year ago in Reserves.
Posted by Pro on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
I have an indefinite contrack until the year 2032 so I said to hell with it. I'm going to do one more tour and use the money to get some property to secure a General Bail bonding license.

Hopefully with everything I got going on right now I'll be sitting well in a year or two when I get back.

Still waiting for a unit to mobe that's got a slot I fit into.
1987, I just laughed at you, irl.
Posted by dreth2 on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
As did the others in my Korean class. Yay for another 101st fan. As if we need more,
and as if thats the only place that could possibly have a legit unit. Anyways..

I apologize that I couldnt properly relay the sarcastic, joking nature of my post. Im also sorry you felt the need to handle it with your condescending little comments. That being said, I want to address a couple of things.

I am not your son.

You don't know me.

If I really wanted to be a warrior, I would do exactly what I've done and attend selection. Why keep playing jv when you have what it takes to make varsity?

What slot exactly are you trying to fill? Because if you arent rocking a long tab I have to say I dont really care what your standards of bamfness are, even if I was serious. Or you could come join me. There is no age limit for sfas. And I have much more fun here than you do, or did, at your reserve drills.

All in all, a silly conversation. I think im done.
1988, Calm down son.

I was busting your balls.

If you're wound to tight to recognize a little inner unit ribbing tough ####.

Was that some third grade #### about how you're whole Korean class laughed at you? Honestly?

I've paid my dues son. I don't answer to you.

1989, And for what it's worth Private.

I'm a remf these days. I was poking fun at myself as much as I was you.
1990, Oh god. Truce.
Posted by Dreth2 on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
We weren't laughing at you personally. Just the fact that you are Choking Chicken fan #321934. There are a lot of those around here lately, and I suppose you sort of got the brunt of that one. Pre-swcs I did dual wield a pair of A's on my shoulder, and we are on Bragg. Not much 101st talk allowed around here.

I suppose I'll give you an apology for that one.

You really just came off as one of these crusty ass 'I spent 20 years serving 1 weekend a month and I faught in Desert Storm' hoots vigilantly defending the oh so stoic and reserved aura they always wanted from some tard ass green boot.

Nothing but love for you.

Even if you are one of the aforementioned hoots. :)

1991, Sorry, No truce for the Alchoholic Anon Div.

For one, reservists have suffered just as many casualties and killed just as many of the enemy as active duty.

There is no front in the war and truckers are just as likely to get shot or shot at in a running fight as the infantry.

I have been in combat.

I have been active, I have been a Reserve. I have seen action as both.

There isn't enough room on my dress uniform or even my ACU's for my badges/awards.

The fact of the matter is, neither division has better training than the other but the 101st has historically had tougher missions with greater losses in war or peace.

I have personally lost brother-in-arms, and have treated injured on the battlefield.

I received the CAB when it was required that you engage the enemy, not just show up.

You sound like a green, level 10 recruit who's indoctrination has worked perfectly.

No shut the #### up private.

First Strike!

What's your rank at the moment?

I haven't seen that mentioned by either of you. Seems funny that you've decided he's a Private, and he accepts your condescension so willingly.

Also.. how many years did you actually serve? When you say retire, I assume you actually mean "retire" and not merely separate, correct?
2041, And you guys are why I joined the Marine Corps...(n/t)
