1875, A song for the Big Three
Posted by Stunna on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
(I live outside of Detroit)
They say the Big 3 are goin down Say they can't survive Travellin fast, movin past, goin outta town On a midnight train to Bangalore
Everybody pointing fingers, eyes upon the floor Everybody with their hands up, walkin out the door Bill Ford and the union heads won’t miss a house payment But middle class families gonna have to hit the pavement
Are we gonna lose Detroit this time? Gil Scott-Heron thought it would be the power plant But now we know it’s shuttin down the line... Are we gonna lose Detroit this time?
I admit, they can't build a decent car Cheap parts equal cars built for breakin down and oil burnin Just one, two, three reasons of many That my car is German…
Buy American? Not really - by Mexican, Indian and otherland Outsourced jobs - do I blame the Three? No sir. I blame G.E.D's who make 30 dollars an hour. It’s time to take the union out of power.
Because we might lose Detroit this time. Gil Scott-Heron thought it would be a power plant But now we know it’s shuttin down the line… Are we gonna lose Detroit this time?
You may not like me, but I tell it like it is This country has forgotten it's capitalist So raise your fist, shake your wrist, but getting pissed Won’t create market share...
Are we going to lose Detroit this time? Gil Scott-Heron thought it would be a power plant But now we know it’s shuttin down the line... Are we gonna lose Detroit this time?

Then they deserve to fall. Make better and more enviromental cars in order to survive. I mean, I buy Finnish vegetables because I know that they are generally cleaner than South European ones (and because I'm occasionally a patriot who wants to support the domestic work), even though they are 2-4 times more expensive than the foreign ones.
