Countering poisons = Quaggoth, resist poison shin pads, green dragon hide, being a resistant to poison race, all of those worked very well actually despite the comments.

Countering traps = If you have two people, you send in one person to clear traps and recall out if needed. This was done a number of times by Aelo/Kariya and other Nexans, and was very effective. If one person, don't be predictable when attempting to regain your item or raid to get ours. Normally I'm no where near the village and even if I am and have not been prepping the room with traps, it takes me a long time to set up traps to cause what you described. Raid quickly and unexpectantly and you will get your item back with minimal resistance. Scions did this especially well.
