**Note that this was not all done at once. A good chunk came in
the beginning of Urden's life, and then some around level 35,
with the last being done at Hero level.

role + Guided as a arrow to the mortified heart of a man are we who
role + are gifted with the Sight of gods. We zip through the air, having
role + been loosed by some divine archer towards a destination only we
role + can forsee...and even then, only dimly. As fate would have it, I
role + was born under a forseen constellation, and thus taken as a child
role + by the Kohe'Kor, a secretive society of anonymous sorcerers located
role + in the Isle of Namoor. I was not to be one of them, however, I was
role + their "investment" so to speak. My occasional visions were enough
role + to keep me alive and valuable in their eyes. But I did not share
role + all that Yu'Rai (Yanoreth) had shown me, and among those were the
role + downfall of the Kohe'Kor. It seemed wise to let events unfold, and
role + to let the secret order die...perhaps even gaining me my freedom.
role + Not that I was treated as a slave, of course. On the contrary, I
role + was well-educated and fed, but being bound into servitude is
role + intolerable to me in any form. After nearly sixty years my vision
role + came to realization. Inner turmoil between the mages took it's
role + toll, and they just stopped showing up, over time. Soon it was
role + only their thralls who were left at Namoor, wondering what had
role + happened to their masters. I, on the other hand, took what books
role + and artifacts that were left behind and set out west, towards
role + the mainland. Since then I have begun spinning my own line along
role + fate's web, and have found myself to be quite a capable wizard.
role + Strangely I find myself able to draw on the powers of fire and
role + water moreso than any others...perhaps because they are so akin
role + to the workings of Fate. Water, you see, flows subtly along the
role + paths of time, weaving it's course and carving out new gorges
role + with indomitable patience. Fire, on the other hand, changes things
role + drastically and immediately. It is the zealous will of fate, and
role + handles any matter effeciently and mercilessly.

role +
role + =========================Urden's Journal============================
role +
role + (( You peruse through many pages of dry, arcane conjecture before ))
role + (( finding a section aimed more towards philosophy... ))
role +
role + ...Is Fate composed of a straight line, running horizontally down some
role + cosmic builder's scheme? Has everything already been said and done, and
role + we are simply the echoes of things that have happened long ago? What
role + sense does this make? None I say. None. I used to think that is was all
role + laid out before me...that I was meant to drift in a dull, thrill-less
role + void, where nothing was new, and nothing could truly be accomplished.
role + My gift of Sight has granted me visions...many of which have never
role + occured, and never will. I can no longer tolerate the uncertainty of
role + this fickle gift...
role +
role + (( This next excerpt was obviously written with a shakey hand ))
role +
role + ...It comes on like a wave...fate, that is. Not a line, as it was
role + thought. But this changes everything, everything! Time rides on the
role + crest of a tidal wave, and in it's wake is the past...but the future
role + is like the calm water before that wave....it will always be changed.
role + Nothing is certain.
role +
role + (( The page you now look upon is soaked in blood ))
role +
role + ...Sometimes I just start laughing. I don't know why until I look around
role + and see them all. All the people living their little lives, having no idea
role + that they are perched on a crumbling cliff, with death on all sides. They
role + think they are so safe in their pathetic little cities, weening their
role + children...milking their cows...not knowing anything. I just laugh....
role +
role + ....The only vision that I am even remotely troubled by is that of the
role + dagger. Many times it has happened: I see a dagger, much like this one
role + that I hold, and it fades into the reptilian eye that forms behind it.
role + Over and over...in a world full of variables, that has remained a
role + constant...I...I know what it means, I have always known, but perhaps I
role + wouldn't let myself believe it. I cannot deny it any longer. I must blind
role + this infernal Sight before it drives me insane. Eye for an eye...
role added
role +
role + The Awakening.
role +
role + After centuries of adhering to structure and harsh discipline in his
role + personal quest for absolute freedom, Urden made a deal with the
role + Ancient Dragon known only as Kahosarin. But Urden was tricked, and
role + the information he was given was not what he truly sought...yet the
role + price had to be paid, and the Dragon did indeed take his toll. He
role + told Urden that his mind would dwindle and rot into madness because
role + of the tainted knowledge given to it. In an extraordinary turn of
role + events, however, Urden actually used his madness to his advantage,
role + enabling him to see all that he could not, and hear the whispers of
role + beings that existed outside of reality...the place Urden seeks so
role + desperately. He had truly been awakened...
role +
role + But all was not as it should be, for in his madness Urden renounced
role + his position as High Chancellor, believing that holding onto to such
role + illusions as that would only serve to keep him bound to the material
role + plane. In his mind the only way he could step beyond would be by
role + the sheer power of his will, and the realization of chaos. Curiously
role + the infernal powers from the great, dark abyss tried to tempt him
role + back into his former position, claiming to know how to get him what
role + he sought. It was the single-most difficult act of restraint that
role + the elderly Magus had ever faced, but he maintained his position and
role + refused them. Now he wanders...waiting for whatever will come next.
role +
role added
role +
role + Forgotten Truths.
role +
role + For nearly a year did Urden wander the world, seeing it truly for the
role + the first time ever. Where every other mortal saw a castle or a stand
role + of trees, he saw all that was there and would be there...all at once.
role + But a dangerous, tragic existence it became, for though his mind was
role + capable of piercing the veil of time, his body was still within the
role + same limitations as it had always been. Unable to understand why this
role + was, he began to strive more than ever to fully transcend his boundaries.
role + Long did he stare into the place outside of reality, into the other side
role + of madness. Even as his body began to wither from lack of care he remained
role + fixed on that place. In the end, however, only his shadow stared back from
role + the chaotic void, and the old malevolence that Urden had been so known for
role + howled for a return.
role +
role + It seemed hopeless, and oh so confusing. But soon the comfort of insanity
role + brought him the answer he sought, for the howling rage of his shadow was
role + a sign...he must be what his soul longed for: The purest of evils. When
role + he finally came to know himself for what he truly was, he felt the pull
role + of the Ebony Scepter once again, and heard whispers from the shadows like
role + never before. The Ccul'gra that he had refused must be sought, now that he
role + had come to understand himself.

description 1
desc + With a pitiless gaze this drow dispassionately takes
desc + note of his surroundings. Unlike most of his kind, his
desc + head is shaved to the skin, and a goh-tee of pristine
desc + white hair stands on his chin. The chiseled features of
desc + his face are handsome to a flaw, as with all manner of
desc + the firstborn. Adding an aire of exotic culture to him
desc + are the many hoops of luminous lapis that ring his
desc + ears and nose, and even a small lip-stud. A skin-
desc + tight, sleeveless jerkin of eel skin hugs his slimly
desc + built chest and tucks into a broad belt at his waist.
desc + Despite the metal-bound grimoire which dangles from
desc + the belt, the divided, skirt-like garment which he
desc + wears about his waist moves fluidly with each step.
desc + A brief glint of light in your eye draws your gaze
desc + to his hands, on which each finger bears a ring of
desc + some kind. Perhaps they have a deeper meaning than
desc + their obvious beauty.
desc +

description 2 (After losing his eye)
desc + Glinting from the depths of a massive red hood is the single
desc + golden eye of a wizened drow. A pristine-white goatee juts out
desc + from his face and an ornate lip stud, made of lapis, draws your
desc + attention to several other pieces of peculiar facial jewelry.
desc + Somehow the very air around him seems to be in a state of chaos:
desc + becoming as cold as a winter storm, and then as hot as noon on
desc + a summer day. At times the wind swirls around him at gale-force
desc + speeds, only to settle down into complete silence a moment later.
desc + What is most odd, however, is that none of it seems to affect him
desc + one bit. For a being who brings such chaos wherever he walks, he
desc + carries himself with an aire of profound discipline. The only
desc + thing to even hint of any inner turmoil is that piercing glare.
desc +
desc + You manage to get a glimpse of his clothes, and see:

description 3 (When he lost his marbles)
desc + The being before you wavers--his very flesh phasing in and out of
desc + focus, as if he were existing in two places at once. He appears to
desc + be an elderly drow, clothed in loose-fitting black silk with several
desc + pieces of exotic platinum armor covering his shoulders, forearms,
desc + torso and shins. You notice that there are no tethers holding the
desc + armor in position...as you look closer you see that each piece has
desc + several hooks around the sides which pierce his clothes and must
desc + surely be anchored in his skin. Strangely, not a trace of agony can
desc + be seen on his face. And what a peculiar face it is: Only one eye
desc + remains, while the other is covered with a platinum patch. But
desc + the maelstrom of madness within that single, terrible eye is enough
desc + to tell you that this drow is volatile at best.
desc +

description 4 (When he became something...else)
desc + A living nightmare hovers nearby. As you take a closer look
desc + it appears to be a drow, but much darker than any you ever
desc + recall seeing. In fact, he is so dark that it's difficult to
desc + see the subtle features of his face. However, the painfully
desc + piercing gaze of a single red eye in the center of what must
desc + be this being's forehead is all too noticeable. Two long fangs
desc + jut down beyond his bottom lip, and two smaller ones face
desc + upwards, granting a very demonic appearance indeed.
desc +
desc + Though you cannot see most of what he wears, the outline of
desc + his shadow suggests that a large cape billows behind him in
desc + some unfelt breeze. At the outer edges of his sides are cruel
desc + hands, hooked in vicious claws at the end.
desc +
desc + Straining to see past the darkness, you finally see:

From what I saw, your rp was good, you sure impressed your fair share of people.

But, and I don't mean this as too much an attack on you....

my pet peeve is lame/stolen names. I hate them. I can't stand them. I have a FAR smaller tolerance for them than the Immortal staff. When I see one it destroys the "suspension of disbelief" that allows me to get into the role of my character.

names like some imms have had that took their names straight from famous book series...and a Drow...named Urden. Like Drizzt Do'urden.

I just personally could not get past that.

For the last GOD DAMNED TIME, that is NOT how Drizzt's name is spelled. And yes, I'm annoyed.

I can't stand people who rip-off names either, and trust me, Urden came
to me without any outside influence. I made it up. I didn't even think
of Drizzt's last name when I created it. His last name is Urdon, which
just doesn't have the same ring as Urden. That's why I probably didn't
relate the two.

You approach this figure to hail him and ask him news, but as you near him,
you draw back with a gasp. Drow! Lavender eyes rimmed with fire look at
you from within the recesses of his cloak. "I am not your enemy," he
calmly states as he rests his arms on the twin scimitars at his belt.
Drizzt Do'Urdon is in perfect health.

Drizzt Do'Urdon is using:
<worn around neck> a well-made cloak
<worn on hands> a pair of fine gloves

Once again I made a dummy character just to prove this. Damn people,
gimme a break. I don't read D&D books, so this is the only damned
Drizzt I know.

Drop it, please.

Maybe they should change his name to Bruce to help the more

It was always fun fighting you, mostly I would try new things and see what happened. Under other circumstances I would have fought differently, but always dealing with 30 light walkers and 1 evil about makes me do stupid things.

Strange people call you an ass, that never came through to me. Evil, sure. Drow, definitely. OOC - probably someone thats fun to hang out with in the local pup.

9039, The "Why's" of my deletion
Posted by Urden on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
In a nutshell I achieved about 100 times more than I ever expected to
with this character. I play all of my characters with a sort of
evolution in mind...however, this was the first one that the Imms seemed
to catch onto and watch grow, both in the personality, and in the goals
department.

I believe many great things could have been done if I had stuck it out,
but it seemed like I was pushing the envelope a bit too much, and I
didn't want to seem like some little gnat that just wouldn't go away.

To a minor extent my personal life has changed a bit as well. I have
a new job, and hopefully I'll finally make it to college next semester.
I see my CF time diminishing in the future. In fact, part of the reason
I wanted to try Immorting was to get a religion going and be able to
interact with mortal characters without having to play for 100's of
hours in short periods of time.

Also, my band just recently recorded our demo, which will keep me
really busy with all the shows coming up.

Anyhoo, thanks again to the Imms that made this character awesome.

9041, Goodbyes. (Evil goodbyes =P)
Posted by Urden on Wed 31-Dec-69 07:00 PM
Firstly, don't go thinking that this was a rage deletion. I died twice
before deleting, but it was something I actually wanted to do, due to
a little side-thing I was working on with Mayesha.

Let's get on to the goodbyes, and then my thoughts afterwards if
anyone wants to stick around and read them.

Scions:

Dullameh: You were/are awesome, and allowed me to extend my need to
rp Urden's "slight" insanity (heh, slight, riiight). I recall getting
a bit goofy with you, in a perfectly evil way, of course. I saved a
log just for you, which will find it's way to Dio's soon. It shows
exactly how Thera's hero populace felt about you. Well played, and
good luck with all that evil stuff.

Krivohan: We didn't talk a whole lot, but what interactions I did have
with you were cool. I thought I knew a good deal, but you showed me
how wrong I was with your frighteningly masterful skill in the CF-scape.

Falax: Wish you had stuck around...always liked you. But I'm sure
you're around somewhere.

Kalraak: Damn you for dwindling away, you were very good to have around.

Jaslanna: Even if you don't lich, have fun as a Spectre. You can do a
lot with it.

Stargher: You were awesome to have around too...like a big, red-headed
brother to go and kick peoples' asses for me. I know you can do
anything in this game if you mixed equal amounts of rp with your amazing
PK skill.

All the rest of you little demons that I forgot...sorry, too many.
Good luck, and enjoy what is about to come to you in the future.

Mortals:

Onilyn: Thanks for sticking around during my last minutes. You are a
cool chick, and besides, Mayesha digs you, so you have it made.

Jezebelle: Hip-shaking harlott. I love that emote when you walk around.
Hehe, have fun as a hero healer...I'm sure you will know everything
about the game soon enough.

Ransleyr: You were odd, I must say, but that's why I liked you. You
may not have thought that Urden did, but the guy behind the screen did.
I got the feeling you were really trying to help me out sometimes...

Nourn: Ya got spunk kiddo. I keep having these horrible text-nightmares
about being entwined at the destructor...bastard :-P. You were always
up for a good fight, and made my life fun...sometimes. Good luck.

Bryvac: I thought I was always whooping on you when we were younger,
but then you got really tough. You get the Most Improved Axe Swinger
trophy. Good luck as Commander, even though I hate ragers 90% of the
time.

Huraz: One....tough....son of a bitch. When we all found out you were
Jhyrbian, it made sense. Well played.

Hirilim: You already got a goodbye. :-P

Finduthilas: Grrrr....you shattered stoneform! But hey, I shattered yours AND killed you at the same time. Yay! No really, you annoyed me
at first, but that wore off a bit over time. Maybe I was more jealous
that you had back-up almost all the time, when I almost always came
at my enemies solo. My flaw, actually.

Lardovian: That alligator is a bastard. Somehow it doesn't make sense
to be immune to your drowning roll, yet still be lagged by it. Eh.

Unalim/Turlis/All the other conjuring bastards: The majority of you
were really, really hard to kill. I mean...ridiculously hard. I don't
think the class, however, is OVERpowered. I do think evil conjies need
some king of "staying" power during fights. Maybe a vampiric aura
granted by devils? That'd be sweeet.

Brandulir: You seem skilled, if not too talkative. Good luck.

Karhon: Rot sucks, but you were cool. Good luck with your story...I
think you deserve something for even attempting to rp with me...most
people just blurted weird remarks, or asked me what my "title" meant.

Abthalok: Thank you for killing me. I practically had to put your hand
on the sword before you figured out that I wanted you to swing it at
me. Hehe, of course...Urden was a bit insane, so it's understandable
that you were confused.

Ulthur: Tough, as all paladins are, but I got you!

Lydian: Tough. Don't think I ever got you.

Dalewiki: Muwhahahaha! "DOH!" is what you must have been thinking when
I suckered you slowly down to writhing with those iceshards, and then
"BLAM!" cone to kill you. Thanks for holding my pendants.

Hazkal: Damn paladins.

Wasarbre: Damn paladins.

Algorvhal: Damn paladins.

Gorach: I swear, if you weren't with a horde, you were running. But
the few times I managed to pin you down for a bit, you actually fought
pretty well.

Immortals:

Wow, you guys made this the best experience I've ever had with any game.
Super Mario Bros. can never compare with true immteraction. You guys
have every graphical game beat easily with that quality. I wanted to
join the team with Urden, actually. His entire evolution gave way to
an interesting train of thought that was a bit darker than Mayesha's
own point of view, and yet similar (thus the tattoo). I believe it
could have eventually became something. But honestly, what I _did_
experience was better than anything to date. My thanks go out to:

Valguarnera: You were the man behind the scenes, and responsible for
Urden's longevity. I thank you for everything you did. I have this
feeling that CF would have a hard time recovering if it ever lost you.
Good luck, and thank you once again.

Mayesha: Awesome, awesome, awesome. You were always around, and always
up to delving into philosophy, nonsense, or torture with me. Keep on
truckin'.

Kahosarin: You swindling bastard ;-) You rotted me brains! But hey,
thank you! After twisting your "curse" on me into something worthwhile
I realized my worth as a WorldClass BullShitter. Seeya around.

To the Unknown Immortal who gave me the compliment (and gift) while I
was at the Inn. I'm damned curious who you were. That was the nicest
think an Immortal has ever done for me (aside from Mayesha laying the
smooch on me).

The Anti-Life: Loved ya. I hope you keep on being a pain in Ilraeth's ass.

======================================================================

Well, I will probably post my role...but here's a rundown:

Urden was born with the gift of seeing the future. However, like most
seers, many things he saw were "possible" futures, or false all together.
This did not sit well with him...and the constant uncertainty of it
drove him a bit insane. In an attempt to sever this Sight from him, he
cut out one of his eyes. Whatever being had gifted him obviously got
the hint, and severed the sight. From that point on Urden lived chaotically,
and struggled to live a life devoid of long-term plans, or on worrying
over the future. Such a life without hope, or even the desire to
actually have hope, twisted him further. Now the next part is hard
to explain...
He came to believe that the power of desire, and mindset alone could
deliver him into the void of nothingness, where everything and nothing
exist together, eternally. It was his belief that Thera and all things
considered "real" or even "possible" existed in isolated pockets amid
the vast void. Thus he felt trapped within the bubble, and this drove
him towards insidious acts to free himself.

As far as Urden's transformation...well, it occured when he was brought
back into the Eternal Night. (For those who don't know, I uninducted
myself, so I could flesh out my role a bit.)

If any Immortals wish to E-mail me and talk over anything, I can be
reached at Pillstrings@aol.com

I'll leave my e-mail open for a week before closing it off. ( I really

Another one bites the dust. *sigh*
If there was someone I felt actually afraid for beside Dullameh it was you. Partly because invokers are a pain to fight if they know what they are doing and since you were chancellor and all, I assumed that you knew what you were doing. :P

As for the drowning rolls, I don't know. But I think that een if you are shielded for the damage, I atleast would be thrown off balance if a big scaly lizard came up to me and started thrashing about in the water with it's jaws around me.

You did a great job from what I saw and you have all my best wishes for your next one. *tip*

No remembering me? Ahh, that hurts my feelings. The time you led the Warlock raid party into the rocks and my phylactery was destroyed, I was about angry enough to kill you. I had already sworn to myself that I would never follow someone in the western aryth months before when Dullameh walked us into the rocks and some of my gear poofed. I would say you would be surprised at how many people in Scion disliked you greatly, but likely you knew they did. Two thumbs up on the character. I did like you.

Ack! The first of many I forgot to mention. Sorry fella. I did like
you quite a bit (after out first tiff over the cb). I knew Urden was
rather hated...but eh...he was a megalomaniacal, twacked out Drow
Invoker with awesome power over the elements...you could say that
being a complete asswipe was his calling. It was just Urden though,
not me.

Thanks though.

Out of interest, with regards to that megalomaniacal comment, how did Urden deal with Daiken insulting him and paying him no respect but still getting back into Scion?
(it may have been a tiny event but i would have thought it would have been a major blow to that kind of ego)

So many people try to roleplay evil and they just come off as goodies who like to pk.

You weren't like that, not at all, and that's rare.

On top of that, when you were around, things happened. You made them happen. More likely than not, when you logged on, someone was going to die.

Congratulations on a long-lived and amazing character. I'm sorry I didn't stick around as well, I'm still trying to figure out if the choice I made is the only one I have.

I had lots of respect for Falax as well. As I said on your farewell,
you seemed only slightly newbiesh, yet would suprise me with some of
the things you knew, and your fighting skills. Thanks for the reply.

I've seen lots of chancellors for scion, and most were fuddy-duddy. Urden was definitely what I envisioned a chancellor to be, and especially a drow... I liked you enough that I hated using rot those last two times, but it's what Karhon would do. (You know, take down the beast as you yourself get ripped to pieces.) I enjoyed our rp, kinda sad we don't get to expand on our relationship. Another thing I'd like to point out, something that added to my respect for you tenfold. You seemed to play Urden consistently, no matter what the odds were pk-wise. I know what it's like to log in and have 20 chars in pk that are opposite aligned, and none that are on your side. And I remember logging in, seeing you on and about five paladins, five warlocks, five sylvans, and a few miscellaneous elves, and you'd be at the bottom of the list. That should earn respect from the entire playerbase.
Anyways, enough of my rambling... Here's a log of my favorite death so far with Karhon, one in which you tore a new hole for me at the fortress.

As far as your job as Chancellor I thought you were an evil ass no taking ##### dude. I liked it. You did well as an invoker to, no Orinah but kick ass. A real shame you didn't stick around.

Fine, I log off to do something else for a while, and the next thing I see is that you deleted. Damn you!

It was kind of funny how well Urden synced with Mayesha, ever since the beginning when we'd discuss matters of Life, Universe and Everything (and Death too, of course, you evil you), and that finally lead to... what it did. And I had fun every moment of it, whether we were playing chess or investigating the finer points of agony, or perhaps practicing swordplay.

Not to mention the surprises too!

Urden says 'I think I shall start...'

Urden has been inducted into None.

Urden says 'There'

That one made me stare at the screen for a moment and read it over again. And I was actually secretly hoping you'd some day just say it loud and clear that you wanted to imm, I got that kinda feeling from some stuff you did. ;P

Welp, instead of being boring and saying "good luck in the future" I'll say... "how did these little horse-shaped ones move again?"

what *you* were going to do right there, but it all went well in the
end. And about the Imm'ing...well, I wrote a really suggestive note
to "Immortal" about 170 hours pre-delete. No one ever really gave me

don't think I can manage another character that needs as much time

First off I have to say, Thank you. Invokers have always given me trouble with past Characters. When I first started with Nourn they still did alittle, but you taught me sooooo much. This may be a bold statement, but there is no Invoker around right now as tough as you were. Thanks for all the spell evasion practice as well. We had the perfect Drow/Dwarf word battles, you being calm and collective, while me slinging curses to yer flamin arse! In a world full of Ragers it gets boring, but you added the kick I always needed for Nourn. Thank you. I think the Score was (Nourn: 1) (Urden: 3) bastard!

Oh, blast. From an IC standpoint, ofcourse, Ulthur will be thrilled. But I'm pissed! I loved seeing you around, you were amazingly crafty. I can't think of any class that has more versatility than an invoker (maybe shamans), and you were expert at making use of it. I think every time we fought, you tried something different. And yes, you got me. Twice :P I have both of them logged, maybe I'll post them some day. My problem was that I KNEW I could get you, so I always stuck around just one command too long, and they were both close fights. Oh well. You were one person I would never consider fighting without being fully prepped. Now if only strike of faith would hit the lagging attack every once in a while...

Coincidently enough, I was browsing through old logs on Dio's and I saw one from Ravenoth that caught my eye, so I went and read all of the logs from him, while thinking to myself that I wish I had been playing when THIS character was around, he looks cool!

Anyway, very hard to kill an invoker that knows what he's doing without being in a big gang bang, or having some ability to lag them. Well played.

only about eh...7 months, or six months ago. Not that long, anyway.

Thanks for the reply.

I figured something was up.

When you told me to Come to the fortress, and come alone, I had just gotten into Thar-Acacia, and had 15 mana and 50% hps. So I ran around, grabed some potions, worded, spamed some mana and healing back into me at the healer in TV, then ran to fight you.

We fought a few times, and I never seemed to do much damage to you with weapons, so I started fighting bare handed to try and 'break' your jaw. Useless it seemed because it only ever lasted for 1 tick? So I figured my sword was mithril, and would heal me some, why not try it.

But yeah, I was confused as all hell, thinking you had some alternate motive, but I gave up trying to figure it out after 10 min or so. I knew you wanted to die, but not why.

Ah well, you were always fun to fight, and a damn good challange. I think I only ever came close to getting you once before this, and it wasn't realy that close...

well done, and way to stick it out after the horde faded

Hey man, you've been around for quite a while, so yeah maybe it was time to go. I have a bunch of things going on right now too, or I might have deleted by now as well. Also the scion having perpetual lowbies is getting old as well, so you will definitely be missed.

My impressions of you:
First time we fought was in Hamsah, and Dullameh was still around. I got you over half way down in a round or two, and wasn't very impressed. So I continued to have that impression of you. Much later on, we tangled again, (after the lich immed) and all I could say was "ouch". I think later on you really started to think of what all your powers in total could do. You almost couldn't be killed if you didn't want to be, and we all know invokers hit huge. Also that was a brilliant use of buffet exclusively in our last fight. You were on the verge of getting me that time. Anyway, I'm babbling, I just wanted to say great job, and good luck with school and stuff.

(oh yeah and if your allowed to say so here, what the heck was that black cloud around you?)(I'm assuming quest spell/skill)

...I think. Urden was transformed when he re-entered Scions, and
actually became a shadowy thingy from beyond! I did have a nice trick
up my sleeve that came with it, however.

Thanks for the reply though, you tough wench.

Ditto. And to think I may or may not have just rolled a warrior to join scion too, despite my misgivings for the cabal :-P

Urden was a great example (one of several recent ones) of how a Chancellor should lead- equal parts respect, fear, and intrigue. And towards the end, "I think I'll follow the crazy guy around to see what he does next." You rolled with a lot of challenging RP situations, and more importantly, you created them. You also had a way of showing up with a range full of enemies, and clawing out your piece of it.

Hope you had fun with my appearances. I'm not really the "show up and chat when requested" type (feels odd for the character), but I tried to track you down in a variety of guises when it felt right. I will also put forward the disclaimer that in any co-Immteraction involving Mayesha, I have about as much of a clue about what she'll do next as you do. :P Which is half the fun, of course. Yay, improv.

Evil miscellaneous responses:
- You mentioned at a couple points in your farewells that you wanted to IMM. We're much more likely to make a decision one way or another on that if we know you want the job. :) I remember hearing a couple things that made me think you might be thinking about it, but nothing clear enough that rang a bell. For future notice for you or others: It's in one of the helpfiles, but an IC or OOC 'note to immortal' that expresses that wish in a clear way is usually the best way to do that.

- I recall thinking things like "It'd be cool if he updated his role so I know where he wants to go with this." or "It'd be cool if he changed his desc now.". And poof!

- Re: The Immortal at the Inn: If it's who I think it was, it's probably not who you'd expect for Urden. Maybe that makes the compliment cooler.

- You probably used a greater variety of invoker spells than anyone I've seen. Kudos for making good work out of lesser-used tricks.

- I agree you're a World Class Bullshitter. :) There's lots of ways to roleplay insanity, and we thank you for playing one that was fun and not annoying.

- For a guy who damns a lot of paladins, I didn't see too many of them who wanted any part of a one-on-one with you.

Feel free to email me your opinions on how seeeecret stuff worked out for you, or just on Life As Chancellor.

This is definitely in the FAQ (under Help on the Web page). Not sure if it's in a help file in-game.

There goes the dream of two invokers running around beating the storm giant paladins and elven mages into deletion. I only wish I had interacted with you more when I had the chance but I didn't want to cause too much of a stir only to run off to spam a spell. When I first joined Scion I was a bit upset because I had wanted to show you what my character was about during the interview, but you had to leave. The next time I saw you you were screaming at invisible effigies and uninducting any Scions who came to you, so I figured it best to steer clear until I understood what you were trying to do. Then once I hit my 30s (about two or three days after you inducted me) a new college semester had started so my playing time was cut drastically. Really it's just a bad case of timing, because you were an interesting character I wanted to get to know. Your knowledge of the game and fighting ability are self-explanatory so I don't need to start gushing over that, but I'll just say that I respected you both as a character and a player, and our limited interaction will not be forgotten so easily. Good luck with your new endeavors.

Well...I hate Urden IC...but i understood ooc that it is a "rp" mud and that well you were just doing exactly that, after just finishing the 1st book of the dark-elf triliogy i now realize how drows act, etc...and that it wasnt Urden's player that was an asshole it was Urden. The only bad thing i have to say is I think that you went about uninducting me in a wrong way that a leader shouldnt have you didnt even tell me but that was better than the time that you outright attacked me :P...Oh well..."Its just a game...Its just a game"

Good luck with your band and all that stuff.

I'm REALLY sorry to see you go!! Our characters didn't interact much, but I'd hoped to deepen the plot. I had SUCH plans! In any case, good luck... staying away isn't easy. And I know it's not nice to say that I hope you fail miserably in your attempt at leaving, but I do. I'd like a chance to play with you again.

Thanks for the brief moments.

Ok, I know we only fought a couple of times, so I really didn't expect my name in your list of good byes. Karhon told me that the rot had landed the killing blow. I was wondering if my "tactic" was the cause of him being able to land it? I could tell that you weren't the average run-of-the-mill mage with your thief like tactics, which made you a much tougher foe than I had encountered in the past. But, if the rot was landed because of the tactic I used, I can only imagine how much more you hate rot now.

Good luck with your band.

I'll fess up. That's me in a rare appearance during a couple day streak (which, sad to say, hasn't lasted) in which I felt like logging onto CF again. I was watching some of hero fighting and banter that night on the part of Urden and some choice others, and it was just too cool.

It took me a number of years to put it together, but it finally dawned on me that in addition to passing out justified verbal beatdowns when appropriate, it's also our/my ideal role to pat players on the back now and then and say "You know what? That was fucking incredibly cool. Good job." Reward attached to it or not, sometimes it's just nice to know "you done good."

And if you do not listen, then to hell with you!

Arr. We had a good run, no?

It was great having you around. You freshened things up after Krivo died and I felt stuff getting stagnant.

Great character, great fun, great...uh...stuff... well, I'm about to pass out, but I felt the need to commend you on a character well played.

Thanks for the fun, and good luck with your next.

Good job, and yes, you are probably one of the only ones that Gorach would run away from if she was not prepared (either I am not up to it because I didn't feel like running around for hours to find some clothes .. AGAIN ... you can ask Wasarbre how much time we two spend in getting new clothes .. dude, we're talking about days and days, I can tell you that much); or Gorach wasn't ready (naked, half way through her mana, still hurt from doing something else, no flight potions and so on) .. but I tell you, it was never like 'Oh damn, Urden is logged on, if I am fighting I am probably going to lose my set of clothes, so let's log off'.. that has never been the case, at ANY moment (remember Dullameh had Wasarbre sleeping on the open ocean and you running there too ? and I came 'to the rescue' ?) .. and when you would show up in an area there were times I ran, true enough... but he, if I get to be knocked down in two rounds, what fun is there for me in this game .. But truly, the moments we 'took the time' to fight, they were interesting .. I learned more about fighting against invokers mostly from our encounters.. thanks .. humm.. thanks ? bah !
You said you were not going to stick it through to the end, but dude, you have at least 120 hours more to live, I can tell *wink* and damn, don't call me that just because I am sticking to my character eh ..
Anyways, let's face the truth .. there was no way in hell I was going to kill you on my own.. although I think I succeeded in killing you twice .. anyways, as I said, nicely done.

Gorach

P.S. Apart from Davrentaz and Amithor I have known all the others with characters of mine. Personally I liked Loranessa the most .. but that is just my opinion ..

Well, had a farewell post all written out...but in my dazed confusion somehow wiped it all out. Not sure how I did that...oh well. Since I used up my energy on the previous note, short and sweet. From enjoyment to torture being around you, it was memorable. A salute to you, you had good pk and rp...something I have rarely mixed well. Don't be so sure your CF days are behind you. One day, you'll be back. By the by, noticed you choose the one incarnation that remembered you in his post...

I'll take that as a compliment. I swear...every time you started talking to me I was fighting a Sylvan, it was wierd. I enjoyed helping you guys retrieve which always seems to get people up in arms since I'm a Magistrate. Trust me when I say I've had many discussions regarding it with players. I was hoping we'd actually get a chance to do some exploring eventually but I guess it wasn't meant to be.

I enjoyed Urden alot, good luck with the next.
