If he can attack you under circumstances that are unlikely to result in him dying, or that are especially likely to result in him killing you (e.g. he flies down and attacks you while you're involved with someone else) then yeah, he should.

I don't think he need put himself at serious risk of getting summoned/slept/dispelled/ganged just for the minute possibility that he might make you teleport away.
