In english, the phrase "couldn't bring myself to do it" means "I was not willing to do it" or "I did not do it" If you read his post you'll see that he said he wanted to, but didn't.

I don't know if you really don't know that phrase or not. Generally, I think your communication skills are okay, but it would probably be better if you slowed down a little when reading and responding to posts. I've seen you clearly misunderstand things quite a few times, and often it's when it seems like you're responding quickly. Yes, you're fluent, but even for native speakers its easy to misunderstand things written on the internet.
