For her it was not so much the freedom.
The Adrenaline.
Or even the solace she found in the sky.

In truth, it was how if she closed her eyes if she just gave in and imagined.
She felt as if Gaia and she could reach the heavens themselves. Abehnanka was
a wyvern rider of lore, a cunning makeshift clan of those far too wild to
reside in Modan. Individuals blessed by the dragons, so much so that they have
taken to riding the wyverns and bonding soul and magic to a wyvern ally.

Abehnanka was one of their youngest but most promising. A child whose blessing
to the Dragon came as much with the blessing as it did- a curse. Her spirit
was untameable. Her personality is softened by those she loves, but fiery and
fury-filled in the face of adversity. Gaia -the wyvern she was bonded to, was
not just her fated friend but also a motherlike figure. Who understood
Abehnanka better in ways that her blood-born family could not. Through this,
Gaia could be her compass in life, calming her in moments where focus could be
lost.

As it is said, those who fly closely to the heavens and sun. Must remember
that the heat and altitude can send them crashing back down in a fury of
flames. It was forbidden by her people to leave the Aturi Wetlands and fly;
Abehnanka however -drunk off the freedom of the skies- went on to do just
that. Coming to pay a price, that would leave her changed forever.

Upon the Aryth Ocean, as she flew above Abehnanka spotted an individual she
perceived to be in crisis. Bloodcurdling screams were clashing with the sound
of crashing waves. With a swirl of her magic, she signaled for Gaia to
descend. Abehnanka prepared to see what she could do to assist. It all
happened so quickly that Abehnanka has spent the rest of her days attempting
to recall it in full. A silver-tipped bolt sailed through the air, striking
Gaia in the heart.

*Poachers* was the last thing Abehnanka was able to remember saying before she
came crashing to the sea below.
