Lessons from the Dead.

But the goblins were clever and learned to avoid such detections, they
were careful around magic and the gnomes grew lazy and arrogant.

An attack was waged and without the clever tactics of his father and an
ill-prepared populace the village was quickly over run.

Doryur escaped with his life but lost everything else. He cursed his kin
in Hillcrest and wandered the land in a deep depression. He began to work
as a hired mercenary, praying for death to come in battle, but it never
did.

He grew hateful and weary of his kin overall, but moreso of the mages who
led to the death of all he loved. He vowed revenge on them and in time
the way to do so became clear.

He decided to join the battleragers and do all he could to remove the
taint upon not only his own people, but the world itself.

The choice came to become to choose a path in the village, and unlike the
masses who embraced their anger without thought, Doryur decided he would
bring that into check and live with an understanding and patience like
his father did, all the while embracing tactics and fighting with
intelligence.

He will never let himself or his friends fall into the trap of magic
again. Only rely on yourself and never relent in combat.
