Chapter 4

On Orcs and Updates

Pininip developed an early fascination of orcs. Perhaps it was something
inherent to his goblin half, but he always had a deep respect and admiration
of the creatures. Chaotic and tribal, a hierarchy based on pure power.
Something Pininip quickly began to make use of.

The orcs love Pininip. He buys their affections with shiny weapons and armor,
but mostly through brute strength as his alligator and cunning/swiftness of
his Eagle. Pininip loves spending time with the orcs, always with a loose
purpose of furthering his magical ambitions. They take the Battlerager Head
with him, the Imperial Codex, and the Scales of Justice. The Chief has told
his village to do whatever Pininip asks.

One thing Pininip does not allow is the Orcs to kill the Fortress while with
him. On more than one occasion he has saved the life of Kruissina, which has
agitated the orcs he was with, but not to the point of rage. Pininip also
enjoys working with the Fortress to bring down the Empire and evil
Outlanders.

Quanhest seems to have gotten Pininip confused with Vodette in the past and
stated her anger at him for him dispersing her. She also accused Pininip of
helping Targung kill her on the Open Sea when Pininip and her were fighting
Targung together and she died because she stuck around after Pininip flew off
near death. Pininip enjoyed spending time previously with Quanhest, but after
she stated her violent intentions towards Pininip he has accepted her
stupidity and fate and actively works against her. The same he does with
Narra the Chancellor. His first meeting with Narra was her trying to kill him
in the air with a Nightwalker and Druk'trar. He nearly killed Narra in that
encounter and ever since then he does not let her fly. Both Narra and
Quanhest have told him that he is doing the Tower a disservice by being
'chaotic stupid.' A term that makes no sense to him.

Pininip does have a streak of violence to him, but only against those that
have actively sought his death or those close to him OR those that seek to
enforce their orderly worldviews or hatred of magic on him. Pininips hunting
is not baseless or without cause.

He has done well for himself to further his magic, the veil has been thinner
because of his farse contest even. ALTHOUGH an Arch-Mage named Argothus
indicated the winner would be rewarded even though Pin had no intentions of
doing so. Argothus piqued Pininips interest in many ways. The magical aura
pouring off of the..man? Creature's?..body was blinding to Pininip's
sensitivity. It very much reminded him of his previous master of which he may
or may not still be a familiar to. Perhaps this would be a new Arch-Mage he
might vector for? Is it possible he will once again have the greatest of mana
surges pulled through his body? Time will tell!
