Introduction
I have decided to start a new book after all these many years.
Unlike my slave book, this one will be written by a free elf.
The objective of this book is to give me a space to clarify my thoughts
as putting in to words offers a unique mode of reflection.

The Fortress
After many years of waiting to speak to the Captain, I never got that
chance, instead the great Korsgaard was visible to my eyes.
We were able to meet and exchange words at the Fortress entrance.
It was a great discussion. I poured out my life history to the immortal.
And he actually cared about my story. I would have expected this of
course, but it was very moving to actually experience it.
His great narrative remains stuck in my head now as a I pen this diary.
He pointed out how we sacrifice ourselves and or our companions so
the innocence does not have too. It has become clear that it is in fact
a burden, but one I am willing to do. When I think of saving those
goodness of heart, so they don't have to fight or suffer, I think of Vaye.
Every soul saved is like saving my sister, I think she would be happy
in the path I have undertaken.
In her honour I now call myself to my friends,
Viya Bror'Vaye, which translates as Viya, the brother of Vaye.
(Here is an almost illegible signature -the ink is slightly smudged)
The Fortress is new to me, but I see countless signs of battles long past
I think I am about to experience the next chapter of my life.
I do not know what to expect, but I hope to make new friends,
I want to try rid evil in the world, especially the dark-elf.
And I hope to never ever harm those with goodness in their heart,
by mistake or otherwise.
