Fading.

Gren is dying.
Nuh ever really think about this before. Gren strong! Has years!
But Gren dying. Can feel it.
Feel it in bones and arms and hands. Nuh as strong now. Tire faster.
Breaths in chest nuh come as easy, blows with flail nuh come as hard.
Gren nuh want to die.
Gren knew low would come.
But nuh quite like this.
Gren's words hurt Gren.
Had to be written all the same. Maybe most important to write.
Gren performed to inn gathering. Gren think Gren will call it Fading.

The truth that seemed so far away
An eternity to be;
But yet as strength and flesh decays,
The cold reality.

The years that pass like falling sand
The time that drifts away;
A battle with one soldier there,
One we lose, day by day.

So much to do, so little time
Our legacy of pain;
The clock will not be slowed for us,
The final price our brain.

Yet we struggle against what comes
To retain what was made;
But despite all tribulations,
Our life proceeds to fade.
