Description

You see before you a little fellow with pale, almost green scaley skin.
His brown hair is abnormally spiked and looks dangerous to the touch.
He has a rugged look to him. His eyes are golden and shaped like that of a
feline and his nose is hooked like a beak of a great raptor. Otherwise, he
seems very balanced in all other physical aspects, but yet seems to look
just a little different each time you look at him. You take one last look

Leadership

I have decided to step up and take a role of leadership on the Island. I have been a part of the cabal for
centuries and have never formally moved to lead. The others have found me a capable enough leader it
seems and have elected me to the post of Meter of the Mind. This may draw me from my studies, yet it
feels to be the right path. Perhaps leadership is some trait a dragon must learn and experience. May I
learn much like the past Masters of Magic and uphold the Balance.

Dragon Mana and the Veil

I believe I have made a discovery. It has been many years since I have made progress on my studies of
the magnificent draconian beasts. I have been busy fighting to defend the balance, but it is encouraging
once again to make progress in my studies. It seems dragons are not as affected by a thick veil and more
easily draw mana in times of drought than other creatures. I have learned how they draw more in these
times and I am now able to better manage the effects of the weak veil. Perhaps I am close in unlocking
this mysterious creature. I fear I may not accomplish this goal. My health is starting to fail me from my
many years defending the balance in the world. But I will persevere, perhaps there is light at the end of
the tunnel.

A Dragon's Ferocity

I have made a lesser discovery. I have been able to instill the ferocity of a dragon within my lessor forms.
It seems to strengthen them. I believe I have been able to strengthen those forms without gaining the
dragon arrogance usually associated with it. A small, yet interesting discovery.

Perfect Dragon Scales

I have finally done it. I believe I have been able master the ability to create perfect dragon scales. I was
studying one of my usual specimens when the final insight came to me. What a breakthrough in this
aspect. I can now soar through the skies and dive at prey like a dragon. I can take powerful bites like a
dragon and use my claws to swipe like a dragon. I can make my body quickly heal like a dragon and my
skin can harden like that of a dragon. I am able to create a lair to rest like a dragon and am able to work
myself into battle fervor like a dragon. I am able to blend into the sands and forests like many dragons
as well as surprise my prey from the skies or from cover. I can create mighty spikes and horns to cover
my body like a dragon. Now I have the scales that cover me perfected. What is next? I suspect, the
hardest part of now putting them all together to create A tough, scaly, spiked, giant winged lizard with
powerful jaws and sharp claws. Soon...........

Dragon Veins

Today I made a breakthrough and discovered that dragons have the ability to resist major wounds
because of an increased thickness in their veins. They can take a wound that other creatures would die
from the blood loss. I had not thought before to study this aspect. I have been able to recreate in myself
this same effect. It has been a while since I have made progress in my studies and this is encouraging. I
will continue to seek out and study these mighty beasts.

A setback and a new direction.

In a discussion with his guild master, Thulevar found most mages of shape only accomplish the ability to
shape themselves into 7 different creatures and Thulevar had now managed as many. His guild masters
let him know there was little left to teach him. He pondered this, where was the wisdom in limiting
gifted mages? He would not give up, there must be other paths he can learn more. Then he found his
next steps in his studies. He must study their forms up close. Unfortunately, most are not creatures that
are very fond of being gazed upon, much less poke and prodded up close. So he must seek them and do
battle with them if he must to learn more of them. He found his guild master could teach him a bit
about dragons that would give him an edge if he crossed one. He learned of their attacks, their
strategies, and their weaknesses. All of this knowledge critical parts of becoming such a creature.
Thulevar felt he had a direction to continue his study. A wise man never gives up on his destiny.

Not a dragon, but one of the kings of the skies - A falcon, a bird of prey.

When studying the greater air forms, Thulevar came across the ability to shape himself into the form of
a falcon. Not a dragon he wished for. That form eluded him still. But this was an interesting and
powerful form when combined with the scales of an armadillo stone dragon. He called it the Dracon. It
had amazing vision he believed dragons possessed and was quick and could dive from the skies like a
dragon to attack its prey with his powerful talons. His studies continued to lead him in the direction he
felt he was meant to go and he was one step closer.

A prickly little fellow - A porcupine dragon?

The mighty rodent! Upon one lucky day, Thulevar was attempting to recreate horns and spiked
appendages many mighty dragons have. Amazingly he was able to shape himself into a weasel like
creature that didn't have horns so much, but had a plethora of spiked quills. As he experimented with
this shape, he noticed he wasn't the most formidable beast and seemed to just have very weak bite.
Then it happened, a creature struck him and howled in great pain and it barely even scratched Thulevar.
He slowed himself more and allowed the creature to hit more grazing blows and it was to the detriment
of this creature. He found the defensive nature of this creature was quite offensive in a way. An
interesting breakthrough, he wondered if he could one day create a quilled dragon, what a novel
beast... a porcudragon...

A dragon! Almost... A flying reptile, a crag soarer!

Thulevar's studies continue. He figured out how to shape himself into a dragon, almost... He thought he
was a small dragon at first, but it wasn't quite right. He was a flying lizard, he just needed to add dragon
scales and he can become a larger more powerful dragon like creature. He was also able to strengthen
his skin yet again to make it as hard as an armadillo. This is quite a formidable sudo dragon. This is even
closer than he has gotten before!

A reptile with a nasty bite - A sand lizard

Thulevar's next advancement in his studies came when he figured out how to shape himself into the
form of a sand lizard. When combined with his dragon scale and stone skin, this was a small wingless
dragon. It had a nasty chomp with a venom to weaken its victim, a tail to stabilize itself and it had the
ability to greatly heal its flesh quickly. Are dragons able to do such? Perhaps he may create a super
dragon with all the aspects he has learned. He was elated and felt he was getting closer to his goal.

Thulevar's first flight - a miniature dragon??

Thulevar's next step in is studies lead him to learn the shapes of the beasts of the air. His first form with
flight was that of the simple nightingale. His first time soaring into the sky was both frightening and
exhilarating. He was such a small creature, but he flew! He also had a discovery in his studies. He came
across the spell to turn his skin into that of dragon scales. What a find! He quickly studied the spell and
became competent at casting it and combined it with his ability to make his skin that of stone. This
might be better than true dragon scales! He took to the skies as fearsome dragon scaled winged beast.
For all intents and purposes, he was a little dragon! At least that is how he envisioned himself. His new
found understanding and ability drove him to learn more.

The next innovation, a mighty beast of prey

After a few years of learning the spells and ways of his guild, Thulevar made another breakthrough. He
figured out how to shape himself into the shape of a leopard. Finally a powerful beast of the forest that
was both strong and quick. One that could sneak through the woods and ambush its pray and disappear
as fast as it attacked. He imagined that this beasts bite and swipe of its claw was similar to that of a
great dragon. This beast inspired him to work harder in his studies.

His first form, a little fellow

Very shortly after joining the guild Thulevar was able to shape himself into a weasel. He was
disappointed at first. Out of all the great beasts of the world he figured out how to change into the
form of a weasel. He thought this was his one great power and was a weasel. But he came to like his
form. It was quick and agile and could work up a frenzy in a fight. He also found out from his guild
master that this was the first of many shapes he will be able to take. Upon hearing that, he promised
himself that he would study hard and one day be able to take the form of some of the mightiest beasts
of the land and soar through the skies as one of the great predators. Perhaps he may even be able to
rule the skies as an all mighty Dragon! If he tried hard enough and studied the beasts... perhaps, just
maybe...the Gods would grant him this dream.

The Story of Thulevar the Shapeshifter

Thulevar found at a young age he was able to transform parts of himself. He could make his ears larger
to hear better, change his hands into claws and even grow horns to protect him. He quickly found he
had the skills of a shape shifter and wisely found a master to teach him. Thus started the adventures of
Thulevar the Shapeshifter.
