A Warrior's Motivation

Crouched in a defensive position, one young felar stands surrounded by three
others in the Tavern of the Red Lion. None of them wield weapons but the
situation is not any less dire for it. Their claws and teeth flash in the dim
lamplight of the tavern as they stalk and eye one another looking for
openings. Rahfi, having started the fight with the others breaths deeply and
growls with excitement, his adrenaline enhanced senses blazing to life. In a
flurry he pounces on the closest one sending chairs and benches toppling. The
remaining two leap into the fray as fur flies and the tavern fills with the
sounds of mewling, growling, and hissing.

"Enough!" Was all Rahfi heard before the crack of the bouncer's quarterstaff
sent him and his opponents sprawling unconscious...

Rahfi Samandari grew up in Blackclaw with no family to speak of, becoming
more a child of the community than the typical big city orphan. Even as a
toddler he was known as quite the little ruffian. He was never out to hurt or
kill his peers, but he enjoyed a good scrap and the heightened senses
adrenaline granted when in the fray. Naturally this led him to seek the
warrior's guild in his later years and tutelage under Weianth, a fela Rahfi
admires greatly for her confidence and flamboyant styling.

Curiosity may kill cats, but it is what ultimately led Rahfi to leave his
fortress home. The mercenaries of Blackclaw often have outlandish tales of
fame and glory. Rahfi wanted to become part of those tales himself, perhaps a
legendary brawler or daring adventurer known for performing perilous feats.
Leilah the mercenary captain, another fela and dear friend of Rahfi's would
not hire him on as a mercenary regular. She insisted that his skills would be
too dulled by sitting around waiting for commissions, so she insisted that he
leave to find his own work.
